Geotag Alpha delivers seamless and reliable geo-tagging for supported Sony cameras. Designed to work in the background and tested for hundreds of hours, Geotag Alpha pushes location data to your camera directly instead of dealing with GPX routes. Geotag Alpha also supports connecting to multiple cameras simultaneously, as well as the time and time-zone correction features on supported cameras.
Geotag Alpha offers Standard and Pro upgrades, where Pro supports multiple connected cameras. You're able to select from monthly, annual, or lifetime licenses.
The free version of the app supports multiple connected cameras but with reduced location accuracy. There's a free (no subscription required) 2 week trial for Pro features.

I'd pretty much given up on using the Sony app to attach GPS coordinates to my photos. I could never count on it to connect when I turned on my camera(s).Well thanks to Geotag Alpha, all that's behind me. Set it up once, pairing to my multiple Sony bodies, and it just works. Turn on a camera and in a blink it connects, and stays connected. Highly recommend!

My only regret with switching from Canon to Sony for my primary camera was the Sony app and its inability to reliably record GPS data on my photos. This app solves that problem perfectly. While I would have preferred not to have to pay extra for this functionality, it was an excellent investment as I can count on getting GPS data on every image.

The app seems to do its job and do it very reliably, however it requires location services to be set to always. Please at least give pro users the option to not have location services always on, instead allowing us to open the app and leave it open in the background.
