Great game with a few flaws. Still fun!

I love the gameplay, pop culture references, and silly puns. There are quite a few bugs but the devs seem hard at work to iron them out. They’re actually very responsive to support emails! Gotta appreciate that. And sure, the in game purchases are quite pricey but you don’t need them to enjoy the game. I myself have only made a few small transactions which were more to support the devs. Wish there were more ways to farm gems and ascension orbs but I imagine we’ll see more opportunities in future updates. I’ve beat the game and hope to see more storyline expansions soon! 😁

So many subsystems and mechanics arbitrarily re-worked to be tedious and push you towards microtransactions (needing to grind items or use gems for upgrading skills being the most egregious time waster). And paid classes and paid professions. And paid items, crafting materials, gems (yes you get a few from free quests, but they do not get you very far and I can infer with confidence the more you progress into late game the more gems you’ll likely need), paid bundles, a 30 day event points VIP membership.Still, the production value was cool so I thought maybe I was being too harsh. Even with the shining banner ad being so distracting in the menu. Then I “unlocked” an additional battle pass separate from everything else I just mentioned and also asking for a $15 purchase for the premium version! The greed is ridiculous. If it was like the first edition I would have paid PC game money ($25+) to remove ads if I could enjoy the rest of the content by actually playing the game instead of credit card simulator. Instead, I’ll never spend a dime. And I recommend you don’t either unless you approve of this bad behavior.

Very grindy, fun story

Like the title says. I played KoPaP 2 a little, so I knew what I was getting into, but hadnt realised exactly HOW much grinding was required. Some things, like unlocking classes and professions, aren’t very clear, but I enjoy testing the different team compositions. While trying to unlock ninja, I restarted my game thinking I missed a step and locked myself out of the class. I wrote customer support when I realised the 7 day login rewards were gone. The person that responded was very kind and understanding, even restored the staff for me. Best support I’ve had in a mobile game, and the only reason I’m writing this review. I wanted to wait till I got further to give a better review, but I’m a bit hard stalled at my progress point. I don’t mind the micro transactions, especially since they carry over on resets (the gems and any jobs/classes). I recommend the game for tabletop fans for the plot and a party system, but advise against it if you prefer something fast and linear.

I was a big fan of kopap2. I was excited to see a third game came out, that excitement however faded quick. New classes? Swipe your card here. Leveling skills up? Another swipe Leveling your town? That’s just one more swipe. See a decent item in the shop? Swipe here! While yes you have the option to play for free…-Want to level up a skill? Spend hours grinding the same fight over and over due to the ridiculously low drop rate.. oh and books are only good for about 3ish levels. So by the time you get enough to level each skill you want those 3 levels you wasted the better part of a day or so. Or you can you know swipe that card for gems. -Want to get better items in the shop? Swipe here for gems! Or you know grind hours to level and get a handful free…maybe, well some level ups. Even then good luck saving 180+ for that shop upgrade. Oh and the shop refreshes on a timer! And the selection is in my experience nearly always trash, or you guessed it… costs a ridiculous amount of gems (1000+ for blue gear) The game is nearly unplayable without spending. Unless your the type to enjoy restarting random battles at the same spot 100s of times. I cannot give less than one star or I would, I don’t mind paying for a premium class, but leveling is so unbalanced you have to pay to make it tolerable. My suggestions: make the town upgradable with gold, increase book drop rates and for the love of god bring back crafting! Oh and stop being greedy snobs.
