I tried about 5 different apps, but Cashew is the one that best suits my needs for expense tracking and personal budgeting. It is extremely flexible, synchronizes with Google, and can also be accessed from the browser on the computer. It also allows you to import and export transactions from a spreadsheet, which is very convenient if you need more complex analysis or want to store the information each year. I love that it also doesn't ask to connect to my bank accounts. I highly recommend it. Furthermore, it allows you to try all the features in a trial period that you could keep forever. I bought it in support of its developers.

I highly recommend Cashew for anyone who wants to get in control of their finances. While the app isn’t automated like many of the others out there, the manual tracking will help you to stay aware of where your money is going. Cashew has a sleek and smooth interface, provides helpful analytics, and is by far the best app I found in the App Store. This app offers much more than many others while also being free for users. I chose to purchase the lifetime subscription just to support the developers for their hard work. Highly recommend the app and look forward to seeing what updates are released in the future. Thank you developers for producing this great product!

It was just what I was looking for personally. I wanted to track where I spent my money so I could see where it was going. My main reason was to mostly track my wasteful spending habits and eliminate where I was wasting money. It does require some work, but it enabled me to do what I needed to and wanted to very quickly and efficiently. Once I started tracking my spending, I instantly stopped making purchases I didn’t need to. Not completely, but it has definitely minimized it for sure. Results may vary of course, but using this app makes me think about purchases before buying in impulse.
