I "run my life" off OmniOutliner. I'm a web developer, and use it to maintain information and action items for all my client setups, all my work projects, and all kinds of history relevant to both work and my personal life. It lets me organize all the thousands of bits of information that otherwise would be too burdensome to save and too difficult to find or reference.I've used many different outliners over time, but this one is by far the most mature, comprehensive, and bug free.Outliners--including this one--are generally advertised as planning and brainstorming tools. That, in my opinion, drastically under-advertises their true capabilities as a way to maintain and organize all the miscellaneous information we need a way to safely and conveniently save, organize, and reference every day. OmniOutliner is probably the single most important piece of software I use.I'm using the Pro version. It does cost a few bucks, but for me it's paid for itself many times over.(And no, I don't work for or have any kind of connection to Omni other than being a paying customer. :) )

I’ve used OmniOutliner for years to create outlines for public speaking. I always thought it was crazy to shell out again for the Mac version when I’ve already paid a pretty penny for the iOS version. Now I’m happy to pay the upgrade subscription price and have it available on both platforms. Best outlining app out there! (If they give the other apps the same treatment, I may look into them again also.)
