Better Than Anticipated

Portmanteau Puzzler
I wasn’t sure what to expect from a game that came so quickly after TikTok virality hit, but this is perfect! Just the right levels of difficulty and relevance. I wish you could do past puzzles for free but I understand they have to make money somehow, as the app seems currently to not generate ad revenue.

I was looking forward to being able to play some fun puzzles. completed the ones for the day & scrolled down to click on the previous day to continue playing before realizing the ability to do so is behind a paywall. I get that these must be created by people, so you can’t just hit “new game” and have as many randomized puzzles as you want so I considered just spending the $3 to keep playing. until I see that it’s $3 A MONTH to access more. Very sick of everything being a subscription. I’d honestly rather have ads in the app and be able to access previous puzzles. have the subscription be to get rid of the ads. majorly disappointed

I play this game everyday and I really enjoy it. My only issue is with the new ‘Categories’ part of the app. The last two days i’ve guessed the category correctly and was counted wrong because of the wording of my answer. Yesterday was ‘tennis scores’ and my answer was ‘tennis scoring’- which was wrong. Today was ‘books in the bible’ and my answer of ‘bible of the bible’ was also wrong. It’s very frustrating that this can make the difference between answers.

I play this game everyday and I really enjoy it. Great idea for an app. Looking forward to logging in daily and seeing what the next combination will be. Initial one’s have been a bit tricky, but that only feel that much better when I “got” them!
