PROLONGED SITTING IS THE NEW SMOKING
- Causes Chronic Health Conditions: type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity
- Poor posture leads to back problems, neck pain, and other musculoskeletal issues.
- Reduced Metabolism: affects the body's ability to regulate blood sugar, break down body fat, and maintain blood pressure.
- Affects Mental Health: increased risks of depression and anxiety.
SO EASY YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO IT
1. Pick a daily goal
2. Pyup breaks it up into a series of pauses (e.g., every 30 min) of reasonable difficulty (e.g., 1 to 10 repetitions).
3. Sit at your desk, wait for the reminder

IT'S WHAT YOU NEED
* No mental overload & time efficient: it's only well-known movements, no need to learn anything, you always know what to do and get on with it
* It's enough: Consistency Over Intensity. Some workout is better than no workout.
* It can be more: keep Pyup for light exercises outside of your regular training, or turn it into intense sessions.
* Flow Friendly: not a good time? Snooze it, reschedule it. Build your plan around your day.
* Forgiving: you didn't finish or you skipped yesterday? Just do better today.
WORK AROUND YOUR SCHEDULE:
* Use that 1 minute before a meeting to do a couple of pushups and enter the meeting energized.
Take another break after the meeting if you feel drained and need another boost…
* Bundle series together to get ahead or to catch up…
* Finish earlier or later
* Drop in the middle and start again tomorrow. You can't always anticipate what life will throw at you
BENEFITS OF ACTIVE BREAKS
+ Stimulate blood flow: better delivery of oxygen and nutrients to tissues and organs
+ Boost Metabolism: burn calories more efficiently
+ Enhance Focus and Cognitive Function: improved mental clarity and concentration. Physical activity promotes the release of endorphins, which can elevate mood and increase blood flow to the brain, enhancing cognitive functions and decreasing feelings of mental fatigue.
+ Prevent Chronic Disease: heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. Lower cancer and cardiovascular-related mortality.
+ ADHD Support Strategy: breaks reset focus, reduce hyperactivity, release excess energy
+ Psychological Well-being: reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, improve mood by production of serotonin
BENEFITS OF PYRAMID TRAINING
+ Spread Load: avoid fatigue, allowing for better form
+ Steady Habit Formation: help establish a consistent exercise habit
+ Minimize Risk of Overuse Injuries: unlike concentrating all the effort into one session
+ Fits Into Busy Schedules: Does not require carving out a dedicated time slot

It's time to download the app and do your first series now!
I downloaded this about a week ago and am on my third round of 100 pushups. I’m really liking the simplicity and straightforward approach. I’m using the pyramid template and it takes away a lot of the struggle and certainly alters my perceptions - instead of a daunting task of 100 pushups, I am only tasked with increments (or “snacks” being the in vogue term) beginning with one simple pushup, and adding one each round up to 10 and back down. 9-10 and back down to around 8 can be a bit of a struggle, but definitely manageable and from 7 back to 1, it’s a piece of cake. My goal is to get to the Box level with 10 sets of 10. I’m also considering adding squats or kettlebell swings to each set. Very happy with this app and the author has been very responsive and helpful answering questions. I highly recommend it

Quality software, well thought out and highly delightful. Nice job!Request: adding other exercise snacks like body weight squats, knee lifts, arm circles etc would be amazing to diversify.

Thank you very much for your review!I will add other exercises, that’s a great idea. Perhaps it would be good to be able to mix them during the day. 🤔Arnaud
Doesn’t Work!

Nice idea, I would like to use this app … if it actually worked! (And the link to App Support doesn’t take you to app support.)
Developer Response
Hey Peter, sorry, what do you mean by that?I’ll gladly fix the issue as soon as I know what it is, but I need more details for that to happen :)Can you please edit this review, or contact me from the app settings: there’s a button “Ask, Praise, Growl” that allows you to email me.Tell me what you were doing, what you expected would happen, and what actually happened. Thanks!Arnaud
- You can now add notes to each exercise snack so it is easier to remember cues, tweaks, or reminders for every round.
- Paid members can now open subscription management from "My benefits" in Settings instead of being sent back to the paywall.
- Step editing feels smoother with dedicated detail screens, tap-to-edit rows, and a cleaner flow for updating notes and exercise settings.
- The planner is more helpful with clearer previews, smarter start-date handling, and better validation for breaks, durations, goals, and edge cases.
- Planner previews with many exercise snacks now scroll horizontally instead of spilling outside the preview card.
- Workouts can now be moved or duplicated to today, or copied to a date you choose, without rebuilding the exercise list.
- Finding the right exercise is easier thanks to a searchable picker, better sorting, and support for kettlebell swings.
- Shared workout scores now describe the exercises you actually performed, or use "Exercise Snacks" when a workout mixes different exercise types.
- Extra steps now show clearly in completed exercise rows with the green + count and matching plus squares.
- Plan generation is more reliable for flat, linear, and pyramid plans, especially for larger totals and trickier schedules.
- The daily progress pyramid now stays in sync after completing larger sets, so completed rows no longer appear partially filled when the workout total updates.
- I also fixed a handful of step editing and replanning issues to make changing exercise types and finishing plans early behave more consistently.
