Firmware Version 220 brings a range of practical improvements and additional features. The release focuses on streamlining ballistic workflows, refining mapping tools, expanding integration options, and strengthening usability in both daylight and low-light environments.
Kestrel Wind Data Integration
VECTOR X now supports real-time wind streaming from Applied Ballistics Kestrel devices. Incoming wind values are constantly fed into the ballistic solver, allowing solutions to update as conditions change. This expands the wind-integration capabilities previously available with the Calypso Wind Meter and gives users greater flexibility in the field.
Internal/External Ballistics
Firmware 220 introduces a selectable Internal / External Ballistics mode, giving users control over how firing solutions are generated. VECTOR X can calculate the solution on its own or draw data from Garmin and Kestrel devices equipped with Applied Ballistics. A dedicated options menu makes switching sources straightforward, ensuring the system adapts to individual workflows and equipment setups.
Controlled Data Sharing
Users can now choose whether Direction of Fire (DoF) data is transmitted to connected third-party devices. This gives full control over what information the VECTOR X shares with external systems, making it easier to fine-tune integrations or maintain tighter control over data flow in sensitive situations.
Manual DOPE Calculation
The VECSS mobile app now supports manual DOPE calculation, allowing users to enter distance values and instantly generate elevation and windage adjustments without ranging a live target.
