Gait Pro
Health & Fitness
$4.99 · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
The eight walking measurements Apple Health records, finally explained: walking speed, step length, asymmetry, steadiness and more.
Gait Pro shows you how you walk, not just how much.
Your iPhone and Apple Watch already measure eight things about the way you walk. Apple Health records them and rarely explains them. Gait Pro reads those measurements and turns them into something you can follow.
THE EIGHT MEASUREMENTS
Walking speed, step length, walking asymmetry, double support and walking steadiness come from your iPhone. Six-minute walk distance comes from your Apple Watch. Stair ascent and descent speed complete the set.
GROUPED BY WHERE THEY COME FROM
Cards are grouped by what produces them, so when something is missing you learn what to do about it instead of staring at an empty chart. Carry your iPhone in a pocket. Wear your watch. Each group says which, and the advice disappears once the data arrives.
CHANGE YOU CAN TRUST
Apple publishes how small a change each of these measurements can reliably detect. Gait Pro shades that range on every chart and says plainly when a month's movement falls inside it, so you are not reading meaning into noise.
TODAY, AND THE DAYS BEHIND IT
A footprint trail for today's steps, your week at a glance, and history you can move through by range.
Built for iPhone and iPad, in light and dark.
Gait Pro reads measurements taken by Apple Health on your iPhone and Apple Watch. It does not measure anything itself, and nothing leaves your device. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose anything. Talk to a doctor before making decisions about your health.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
Gait Pro 2.0 adds the feature the app is named for.
MOBILITY
A new tab for the eight walking measurements Apple Health records: walking speed, step length, walking asymmetry, double support, walking steadiness, six-minute walk distance, and stair ascent and descent speed. Each comes with a plain explanation, thirty days of history, and an honest note about how much of that movement is large enough to be real.
REDESIGNED
The whole app now looks like its icon, with a footprint trail for today and three tabs in place of one crowded screen.
FIXED
- Walking speed was labelled as metres per second while actually showing its reciprocal.
- Reloading your history could duplicate every day in it.
- On some devices the app refused to count steps at all, because it checked the wrong sensor capability.
