Muky is wonderful app! It has an exceptional integration with Apple Music and a very easy to use interface. The ability to separately create or import playlists is very useful, particularly if you’re a heavy user of Apple Music. Most importantly, the app provides a safe opportunity for children to enjoy music. The developer is also very kind and high responsive.

I love it, but… The app started on freeze dance mode, so now I have to go to search to even play it all the way through and it’s annoying. But overall it’s a nice, safe, kid-friendly app.

Thank you for the kind review and the honest feedback! What you describe sounds like the Freeze Dance game mode was turned on by accident. It is never on by default: a dancing figure icon appears in the player only if "Show Freeze Dance Button" is enabled in that playlist's settings, and tapping the icon starts the game, which randomly pauses the music so kids can freeze. Tapping the dancer icon again, or simply pressing play, pause, or skip, ends the game right away and the music plays through normally. You can also hide the button completely by editing the playlist and switching "Show Freeze Dance Button" off. If it still acts up, please write at hi@muky.app and I will sort it out with you. Can’t see any real function of the app without the free trial, and will not accept refund requests if you go over the trial period. All for a glorified VLC Player, if I’ve got to curate my own content anyways. Appreciate what you’re trying to do, but it’s not for everyone.

Parents can install the app, set up profiles and build playlists for free. The free week is there so you can try the real thing with your kids before paying anything. If that wasn't clear before you started the trial, that's on me, and I'm working on showing more of the app up front.About refunds: I'd really like to help, but developers can't issue refunds for App Store purchases. Apple handles all of them. You can ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com, and Apple is usually fair about this, especially right after a renewal. To avoid surprises, Muky sends a reminder two days before the trial ends.On "glorified VLC player": I understand where that comes from. Muky doesn't sell its own content library, because parents bring music they already have from Apple Music, Spotify or their own files. What Muky adds is everything around that. Kids can only play what you've approved, so there's no autoplay, no suggestions, no ads, and no way to wander into the rest of the catalog. The parent area is locked with a passcode, and it all works on iPhone, iPad and in CarPlay. If you'd rather not curate everything yourself, the Browse tab has a hand-picked catalog of kids' audio that you can add with a tap.You're right that it isn't for everyone, and that's fine. If you ever give it another go, I'd love to hear what would make it worth it for you.Oli
