We really love the duplo train. We didn’t actually know that the app would allow us to control the train’s motion, sounds, and lights and that we would be able to record ourselves using the sound bricks. We just thought that the train looked cool in the store. The app is just awesome. We highly recommend this train for 2 to 3-year-olds. They will think it’s incredible.

This new app is absolutely terrible. I would caution anyone who doesn’t already own these trains, DO NOT BUY THEM!!!!!!!! The new app basically requires your child to stare at an iPad (increase screen time) just to have the controls of a simple handheld remote. At that rate, just buy them a regular remote control train!The old app was great - there were more controls (varying speed), there was a cute storyline while running the train and you could also see out the windshield like they actually were the train engineer. I believe there was also a part with different train track maps. This app seriously is useless… a few videos that nobody needs to watch more than once and a remote control with not much interaction that could be just a regular remote control at this point. My son is so disappointed. He spent so long putting his track together yesterday afternoon and was so excited to play with it this morning and then we had to update the app and ended up with this crummy app. The developers really ruined this app and my son’s experience with his Lego duplo trains….

When I pull my train then the button I pressed won’t go up

As others have noted the old app was much more interesting than this newer app. You could have removed the games while still keeping the cute control dashboard. My kids loved the variable speed control as well as being able to pull down the train whistle lever. It was also super fun to have a windshield view of the track as well as a counter for the number of times the train went around. This is a disappointing, huge downgrade. Please bring back the old controls and restore the fun! And get rid of the videos!
