Absolutely love the Rotten Tomatoes app! 🍿🍅 It’s my go-to movie buddy whenever I’m deciding what to watch. The layout is clean, super easy to use, and full of helpful info without feeling overwhelming. I love being able to quickly check scores, ratings, read the reviews, and discover new movies and shows that I might’ve missed. It feels like having a trusted friend who gently says, “Yep, this one’s worth your time!” If I’m planning a movie night or just browsing for fun, the app makes the whole experience enjoyable and stress free. It’s reliable, fun to explore, and super handy! This app definitely deserves a spot on my home screen! 🎬✨
Rotten navigation.

I downloaded the Rotten Tomatoes app hoping for a simple way to quickly check reviews, but the experience has been frustrating. The app is very difficult to navigate. There’s so much happening on the screen that it becomes hard to focus on the main purpose of the app, which should be finding reviews for movies and shows. Instead of a clean, intuitive layout, it feels cluttered and confusing.Another major issue is the number of pop-up ads. Many of them appear immediately when you open the app and some are very suggestive in nature. At first they seem like clickbait or curiosity-based content, but once you open them you realize they’re just trying to sell something. These types of ads feel unnecessary and inappropriate for a movie review app. They interrupt the experience and make the platform feel less trustworthy. What’s even more surprising is that many times the app doesn’t even have useful information or reviews for certain movies, even fairly recent ones. For a platform that is supposed to specialize in movie reviews, it’s disappointing when you search for a contemporary film and find little or no helpful content.Overall, the app feels cluttered, ad-heavy, and not very intuitive to use. A movie review app should make it easy to quickly search for a film and see ratings and opinions. Unfortunately, this app makes that process harder than it needs to be
Forced participation
I rarely revie__
In the past I loved using rotten tomatoes to get information on which movies to see in theaters, compare ratings or get a picture of what it was I was about to see. However since rotten tomatoes changed their mobile website to simply display an add for their unnecessary app with no way of using the website it’s self I find myself struggling to not resent the decision and the developers, moving away from rotten tomatoes out of spite. Having come up against this unnecessary inconvenience several times which was always frustrating and usually ruined my rotten tomatoes experience, I decided to download the app that Rotton Tomatoes was forcing me to get to simply view what’s on their web page. I downloaded the app, tried to connect my Google acct several times which didn’t work, and finally created an account just so I could see if Blonde had a good critic review score. That should have take 15 stress free seconds instead of two minutes hating every second of it. Complete waste of phone space and time on this precious earth forced by developers pushing an unnecessary app for what is simply an informative website. If we needed every website to be its own app experience, then why does my phone have Chrome?
Very unstable experience!
Darkville2
The Rotten Tomatoes app on iOS is incredibly unstable and frustrating to use. It seems to go down almost every hour, making it nearly impossible to browse or check reviews consistently. For an app that’s supposed to be a trusted source for movie ratings, the constant crashes and downtime make it feel very unreliable.Another major issue is the confusing rating system. There appear to be multiple reading or scoring systems in place, and it’s not at all clear what each one means. It makes browsing and understanding movie scores unnecessarily complicated. The app would benefit immensely from simplifying things and sticking to one unified system—like the classic Fresh or Rotten labels everyone recognizes. No one using the app has the ability to choose or influence these rating options anyway, so the extra layers just make the experience messy. My suggestion: stabilize your servers and commit to one clear, consistent rating method. Until then, this app feels far below the quality standard you’d expect from Rotten Tomatoes.
Bug fixes and performance improvements.
