Tuner & Metronome - Melodrill
Guitar, Violin, Ukulele, Bass
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Three essential practice tools in one clean app. Tune, practice, play.
Melodrill is the free tuner, metronome, and drone that musicians actually enjoy using. No clutter, no sign-ups, no bloat. Just open the app and start tuning.
TUNER: PRECISE TO THE CENT
Play any note and see your exact pitch in real time. Melodrill's chromatic tuner shows frequency precision down to the cent, with color-coded guidance: green when you're in tune, yellow when you're close, orange when you need to adjust. Works with guitar, violin, ukulele, cello, bass, banjo, and every other instrument.
GUIDED TUNING
Pick your instrument and tune string by string. Guided presets for guitar, ukulele, banjo, bass, violin, and cello. Perfect for beginners and fast for pros.
PITCH GRAPH
See your pitch as a live graph, not just a needle. The graph traces every cent of movement as you play, so you can spot drift on long notes, check whether you're consistently sharp or flat, and watch your vibrato take shape.
METRONOME
Set any tempo, time signature, and subdivision. Choose from different click sounds and customize your beat pattern. A free click track always in your pocket.
PITCH DRONE
Play a sustained reference note across all octaves. Use it for intonation practice, ear training, warming up, or playing scales over a tonal center.
CUSTOMIZABLE A4 REFERENCE
Six presets (440Hz standard, 442Hz high, 415Hz baroque, 432Hz Verdi, and more). Premium unlocks fully custom frequencies.
Free to use. Optional subscription removes ads and unlocks custom A4.

Ratings & Reviews

Melodrill has a whole new look: your tuner is now a luthier's drawing desk.
NEW DESIGN
• Hand-drawn instruments: the headstock of your guitar, bass, ukulele, violin, cello or banjo, drawn like a technical sketch.
• The string you play rings on the drawing and shifts from orange to green as you get closer.
• An IN TUNE stamp lands the moment you nail it, and holds while you stay there.
• Dark mode: a warm blueprint for late sessions. Follow your system or pick Light or Dark in Settings.
• iPad: the desk now fills the screen, with two columns in landscape.
NEW FEATURES
• Chromatic wheel: all 12 notes in a circle, with a needle pointing at exactly where you are. Tap a note to lock it.
• Steel rule: a ruler that follows the note you play, cent by cent.
• Smarter pitch graph: it zooms in on the note you are tuning, then zooms out when you change note.
• Tap tempo: tap the beat and the metronome picks up your BPM.
• Accents in one tap: tap a beat to accent it or silence it.
Tune, play, practice. Enjoy the new desk!
