This whole idea started when we (Nigel and Laura Bloomfield) were in college and struggling to stick to a budget. No matter what method we tried, nothing worked! Eventually we created our own system that was easier, less stressful, and made us happy! It was a tremendous blessing to finally have our finances under control and we knew we had to share it.
We saw people charging huge fees to teach their methods (that aren’t very helpful or unique). We didn’t like that at all. So we created a nonprofit and started offering free spreadsheets. Over 200,000 people around the world have used them. This budgeting app is the next step.

Love the app! Best budgeting app I have seen and used. Operating on a weekly budget is so much easier than using a monthly amount. One of the best parts is you can see the projection of your finances 2 years into the future for planning and making sure you have money available whenever you need it for expenses!
Squashing bugs and smoothing things out!
- The widget opens right up now, even after the app has been closed or in the background a while. No more double tapping!
- Fixed a coloring glitch on past due calendar items in light mode.
- New users won't finish their budget with $0 Happy Money anymore. That empty start was confusing!
- Voice entry does a better job matching payees you already have before suggesting a new one.
