Love this concept! I’m a t1d teacher and there is a t1d in my class. I assigned this game as extra credit in science. It’s a great way to help non-diabetics friends/family start to understand what we do every day. I appreciate the encouraging feedback to normalize not being ‘perfect’ all the time. I would love to see even more levels (foods with different glycemic index/bolusing for fat/protein, 4 period phases, dawn phenomenon/resistance changes in the morning/night, unpredictable variables/stress/etc). It might also be helpful to have a character (who’s customizable?) of the actual person getting tired/cranky/ill etc in the corner. This could help build self-awareness for kids who may not understand how much blood sugar affects their mood/energy and build empathy/normalize the mood swings for frustrated caregivers.
4-star for potential

Needs a skip button for instructions. Needs an easier to click “pause” button. Maybe instead of just “insufficient dose” and “excessive dose,” tell the use how/why. -Or at least provide an option (“Help/Hint” to see how/why the game thinks a dose was insufficient/excessive.) I’m on level 51, maybe it is still coming, but there ought to be a IOB indicator as there is on most insulin pumps/systems.All that said- SUPER COOL that people took the time and effort to make the game. Kinda feel like the game is more difficult than actual T1D… for better or worse…
I really wanted to love this

I really really wanted to love this game. However there are too many practice levels before you get to the actual game. There are timing issues because it goes so slow, but the fast forward button goes too fast. I wish it let you adjust doses accordingly rather than just skipping. I had my mother who knows very little about diabetes management download it and she was less than impressed too. Still giving it 4 stars because I think some people will love it and I think representation matters.
great for new diabetics
artichoke334
I’ve had type one for 15 years, downloaded this game thinking it was going to be another one of those completely inaccurate silly games that just make everything more confusing but it definitely would be helpful as a new diabetic! I do with the units went a bit smaller, sometimes I want to do a little bit less or more than half a unit
Now you can switch between US and EU units! Check out the mmol/L mode in the settings menu.
