My 8 year old Iris station stopped sending - probably needed batteries - and since it is difficult to get to, I decided to go ahead and replace the system with the new Optimus. I appreciate the availability of the remote battery pack, will make things much easier in the future. The station seems fine, the display is much nicer, but the app isn’t ready for prime time. I agree with an earlier review that it doesn’t seem designed for the weather station enthusiast. To start off, with installation I ended up with 0.05 inches on the rain gauge; I was able to clear this on the display, but AcuRite tells me there is no way to reset the total in the app, so now my app and display don’t match. A small thing, but annoying if you follow the yearly totals. Probably could have avoided this by doing a reset of the display before setting up the app, but who knew? Since my interest is the weather station, I only have the one sensor, but every time I open the app, I have to select that sensor - extra step. Can’t the view default to the previous state? And things like highs and lows, tracked in the ole myAcurite, don’t seem available. And what is going on with the graphs? 48 hours seems to just show the previous 24. What is being graphed for temperature and humidity, the daily average? Not helpful. If not showing you separate curves for the highs and lows but just some average, don’t display the data as a continuous line. I could go on but you get the idea…. I think the hardware of the new system looks good, but they need to realize who their core market is and engineer the app toward those wants. I am sure it will improve with time.

Overall the App is nice and it’s great being able to see data easily on the main dashboard for the AcuRite Optimus Sensor. I think it would be helpful to have a way to email or download historical data charts in case you want to compare readings from the same time from the previous year or for printouts. It would also be nice to see the charts from the last 24 hours instead of jumping from Today to 48 hours. Also a connection and battery indicator for the sensor would help determine at a glance if the sensor is offline.
Great product, great idea, but needs some work.

The AcuRite Optimus is an amazing weather station. It works exactly as it’s supposed to, gives great data, updates fairly frequently, and is pretty accurate! However, the AcuRite NOW app is not as perfect as the station. One bonus is that the setup was very easy, but there are quite a few bugs. When trying to see rainfall totals, I saw that it doubled what I saw on the display for a year, and seemed to have just randomly added 0.10 inches for the 48-hours counter. (It said 0.78 when it was actually 0.68) I agree with another review which said that this app seems to not be meant for the weather enthusiast, and maybe more meant for a smart home user or someone who likes a simple app. I think people would really enjoy the Optimus finally supporting Weather Underground, so I’m hoping that when that comes, most of these problems will be solved! But overall, great product.
A total disaster

I have been using this app for about 10 days now. The app is a total mess. It looks like what the company was trying to do is make this app look like Google or Apple‘s home app. They envisioned a house full of their sensors in different rooms. It was not designed for the weather station enthusiast. If you’re someone like me who just has a weather station, you are not interested in setting up rooms deciding which room the display should be in adding rooms. As far as the app being accessible to people who have to use a program like voiceover, it is not! No consideration was given to accessibility when designing this app. What I would like to see them do, is give access to those of us who have purchased their new Optimus weather station to their older app called my Accu right which has the functionality that the weather station enthusiast needs.
Performance improvements.
