I downloaded it with high hesitation seeing a solid 1 of 5 reviews. When I saw “Smart Life” I instantly knew what happened. Acurite is the second product I use that has decided to get out of the App business and has sold out their data to a 3rd party App services house who knows absolutely nothing about how we loyal weather fanatic customers review and consume our weather data daily. They bundle everything into a common platform Home Services App. and in this case threw together a couple of very basic pages with an Acurite logo to show basic Acurite data. Same problem with my other device company that did this. NO customer interaction or product testing rounds before rolling out. Rookie mistake Acurite. We lost data viewing, history, trends, and all sorts of features we had instantly at our fingertips. What a shame after over 10 years with you when Chaney Instruments was the owner. In the Board Room this looked like an incredible cost cutting measure but in fact it’s a customer cutting feature many of us won’t stand for. Hope you get busy with your new App vendor before this ship sinks. Until I see good reviews here I’m abstaining and spreading the word.
Needs some work

My 8 year old Iris station stopped sending - probably needed batteries - and since it is difficult to get to, I decided to go ahead and replace the system with the new Optimus. I appreciate the availability of the remote battery pack, will make things much easier in the future. The station seems fine, the display is much nicer, but the app isn’t ready for prime time. I agree with an earlier review that it doesn’t seem designed for the weather station enthusiast. To start off, with installation I ended up with 0.05 inches on the rain gauge; I was able to clear this on the display, but AcuRite tells me there is no way to reset the total in the app, so now my app and display don’t match. A small thing, but annoying if you follow the yearly totals. Probably could have avoided this by doing a reset of the display before setting up the app, but who knew? Since my interest is the weather station, I only have the one sensor, but every time I open the app, I have to select that sensor - extra step. Can’t the view default to the previous state? And things like highs and lows, tracked in the ole myAcurite, don’t seem available. And what is going on with the graphs? 48 hours seems to just show the previous 24. What is being graphed for temperature and humidity, the daily average? Not helpful. If not showing you separate curves for the highs and lows but just some average, don’t display the data as a continuous line. I could go on but you get the idea…. I think the hardware of the new system looks good, but they need to realize who their core market is and engineer the app toward those wants. I am sure it will improve with time.
Huge Downgrade and Moving to Subscription Model. Beware of this brand moving forward.

First off, what a let down by AcuRite. This app provides less information, looks much worse, and charts are useless. You can not name individual sensors and no longer can share data with weather underground for free. The only option is to pay about $20 per year to save only a year of data and have access to weather underground. Charts do not scale anymore and are curved so much that increases cause the plotted line to appear to go backwards. It also no longer shows lightning distances or times, highs and lows, light interpretation, hours of light, or feels like temperature. It is more difficult to navigate as well. I am very disappointed in AcuRite, especially as a long term customer, as they gave a 2 week notice before forcing everyone to switch without any consideration for existing customers. I will no longer be recommending AcuRite to others and will be switching brands once my current set up stops working. We should not be forced to pay to access more than a months worth of data when we spend hundreds on the equipment and have no other option to view the data.
A disaster we didn’t ask for

Have loved my Atlas weather station for years. The My AcuRite app has worked great and provided me all my weather data remotely. The new app provides less data with more delay, organized in a less clear layout. You are quite a bit late to the Smart Home market and I have other solutions for home automation. Hope you’ll consider moving your old app to your new server so we can continue using a clear and useful display of our weather data.June 10th: It has been over a month since my review above and I see no signs of progress or improvement in this app. The graphs still lack values on their axes. Just squiggly lines with no way to interpret them; useless. I’ve never seen such a miserable release of an app. What a terrible way to treat loyal customers. Until today, I had not looked at anyone else’s reviews. Now that I have, seems the frustration with this app is nearly unanimous. The most one star reviews I’ve ever seen; many of which would have been zero stars were that an option. Please, please continue to maintain the My AcuRite app indefinitely, even if you feel you must continue to pursue this disaster of an app.
• Bug fix: Legacy devices deleting sensors would unexpectedly redirect users back to the home page.
• Tap-to-Run improvements.
