More accurate distance tracking -- Distances are now measured using a smarter dead-band approach that filters out GPS jitter while still capturing every real meter you ride, even at lower GPS accuracy. Improved GPS outlier filtering -- Bad GPS readings (teleportation spikes) are now caught more reliably by cross-checking implied movement speed against your phone's hardware speed sensor. Better elevation data -- Elevation gain now uses your iPhone's barometric altimeter for much more precise readings (within ~0.5 m), instead of relying on noisy GPS altitude. Hills and climbs are tracked more faithfully. Faster GPS startup -- The GPS radio pre-warms when you open the ride screen, so you get a good location fix faster when you tap Start. Smarter motion detection for better battery -- The app now intelligently manages GPS power through your ride: ramping up quickly when you start moving, staying precise while riding, and saving battery when you stop. This means faster GPS lock when you hit "Start" and less battery drain at rest. Smoother map tracking -- Your position on the map is now smoothed using a weighted average that favors higher-accuracy GPS readings, reducing the "jumpy dot" effect. More reliable ride recording -- Ride data is now saved continuously as you ride using an append-only format, so even if your phone dies mid-ride, everything up to that moment is preserved.
