This app is great at finding cards with a quick scan and is really useful if you are buying, selling or trading cards because you can check the money. It also keeps a record of your cards and shows you the value increase which is also very very nice. One of the major issues is that if your card isn’t mint condition you won’t know the price… it says “TBD” so you don’t know the price of the card and this can also happen is ur card is a low PSA grading. I know that this could be fixed so please do because now I have to keep all my cards as mint condition even though some of them are not. Also the PSA grader just makes up longer card boarders for no reason. Fix that too. Other wise this app is great and I recommend.

I got the app to see what grade I might get on my mega Charizard X ex and this card I got a few days ago it’s my first SIR ever! So I get the app expecting a nice “Hello, welcome to holo dex. Please log in if you already have account, please sign up if not! Thank you!” BUT NOPE ALL I GOT WAS A B-B-B IS FOR BORING OLD LOG IN AND SIGN UP BUTTON AND NOTHING ELSE!!! And then when I signed up for it I was immediately flash banged with 2 (yes 2 Im serious) monthly subscription. And when I clicked on the ai gradi- I mean ai cash grab tool I got a like 1 minute video not an add a VIDEO!! I couldn’t click out of the video! After that I was flash banged with the same thing as last time! And this is when I realized that you need the one of the subscriptions. So as a last ditch effort click the button at bottom middle of the screen (that button is the scanner to scan cards to a to a horrible card collection thing) I NEEDED A WHOLE ENTIRE TRIPOD JUST TO SCAN IT! So yeah don’t get “cashgrab dex” (I’m not being paid to say this but I do recommend deleting this cash grab if you already got it and downloading price charting it may have a monthly subscription but it works way better it has unlimited scans it’s just way better I can’t even explain how much better it is) thanks for reading bye have a wonderful day PEACE (whoosh sound effect plays)

The only reason I wanted to try this app was to see what it would grade some of my higher end cards at, but that feature is locked behind a (currently priced at a yearly fee of $35 but that was a 60% discount price) paywall. The “free” features of this app are literally just a pricing guide that honestly is outdated by what feels like a week or longer (which is a long time in card pricing) they don’t have sets that have come out within the last two months. The “free” features won’t let you check the price difference between first edition and unlimited which can be substantial for some cards. Also in order to filter a card based on its rarity you will have to pay for that as well. I would be more willing to try a membership if they gave me a chance to use the feature but given the rest of the app I don’t want to pay for an app that uses outdated information. The app doesn’t show all rarity versions of a card within one set only the cheapest option was shown so if you happened to have the $300 copy of the card it will show the $60 version as if it was the same thing.

I just recently downloaded HoloDex and I am enjoying how easy the app is to use. The scan feature to find cards and the ability to add any condition/grade to a card is something that sets it apart from a lot of other apps. A few negatives however: I purchased HoloDex pro, and no matter how hard I try, the highest the AI grader gave my card was a 9.4 (funny because it is slabbed as a PSA 10). The grader needs some sort of key. For instance: If the grader gives ~9, then psa would likely give a 10. And if the grader gives a perfect 10, then theoretically the card should be a BGS black label. We need some way of understanding how the AI grader translates into actual grades for each company. Another negative: I spoke about how great it is that you can add grades for your cards, and how you can also add conditions. The issue with this however, is the app’s database does not have prices for certain grades or cards. So all of the LP cards in my portfolio have TBD as their price. Also, for PSA 10 cards with low population, the price I put I paid for the card ended up being the market price on the app, not the real market price.Overall, HoloDex is an app with great potential, but it needs to update its databases and give clarity as to what its grades mean. If the developers care about the future of their app and keep updating it and its database, I don’t doubt that it can become one of the best card scanning and grading apps.
