Probably one of the biggest openings left in the wake of Reddit’s little genocide on third-party apps was a solution on Mac. Narwhal’s developer has never shown interest in enabling installation of the iPad app on the Mac, so enter Artemis! So grateful to have a great experience on all three screens without having to go to Reddit’s website. So glad to see another green shoot coming up from the ground after the fire that took out the entire Reddit app ecosystem. Thanks for making another great solution for those of us who really just want to read, comment and post the content we want to see and not whatever ad-driven algo wants us to see.
Best Reddit App on iOS

Used to be a big fan of Apollo and got bummed when it shut down. Honestly at this point I think this app is even better than Apollo in certain aspects. The developer is super response to feedback and works hard to implement it and quickly too. The app works great and looks incredible with the Liquid Glass design. I really just love everything about this app and it’s my preferred way to use reddit now. Really hope this app sticks around because it’s well worth the subscription currently.
Not very impressed

Less features than Apollo. There is no follow/unfollow feature anywhere. I have to reset the settings every other time I open it. There’s no share button or gesture. You can’t access the comments when you open a post. You have to back out and then open the comments instead of a gesture on the Reddit app. It’s my first day using it so I thought it would be life changing but I may just go back to the regular app. So far not seeing a product worth paying for if it doesn’t have built in features the other one does. It’s incomplete. You’re basically paying to make upvoting a gesture.
Developer Response
Hey! Sorry the app didn't meet your expectations. It's only about 2 months old, while other similar apps like Apollo were in development for 8+ years, so theres still some work to catch up feature wise!If you have any issues or feature requests feel free to let me know on /r/ArtemisApp, I'm usually pretty quick to implement feedback! When opening a post if you scroll down you will be able to see the comments under the main post. The pro sub is mostly for cosmetic features like themes and app icons, it's completely optional and mainly for people who want to help support the project. All the core features of Reddit like upvoting, sharing, commenting, using gestures etc are all completely free to use (and always will be!).
Pretty good Reddit app

Reminds me a lot of Apollo, which I’m guessing is intentional given the name. Works pretty well so far. A lot better than the official Reddit app already. Some suggestions I would make, though:- Options to mark posts as read when you upvote, and mark image posts as read if you tap on the thumbnail to view the image. Right now the only way to mark a post as read is if you view the comments or use the option to mark them as read when you scroll.- It would also be nice if you could collapse entire comment threads by long-holding or long-swiping any comment in the chain, similar to the official app or Apollo.Other than that, it’s a clean and simple Reddit app which is exactly what I need. Dev is doing great job so far 👍
