STORIES THAT HOLD TOGETHER
Long chats are condensed into story arcs as you go, so chapter one still matters in chapter twenty. On Infinity plans, characters also keep long-term memories: names, promises, secrets, the thing you said three sessions ago. You can read, edit, confirm or delete every one of them, pin key messages, and write a Fixed Memory that is included in every reply.
CREATE A CHARACTER IN ONE SENTENCE
"A jaded detective with one last case." "A cozy tavern at the end of the world." Type an idea in the Design tab and Junipero drafts the personality, backstory and opening line. Refine any field, generate an avatar from the description or upload your own art, then keep it private or publish it for the community.
CHARACTERS AND SCENARIOS
Build a single character to talk to, or a Scenario: a setting, a situation and a narrator that runs the scene around you. Scenarios turn Junipero into a text adventure where your choices steer what happens next.
EXPLORE COMMUNITY WORLDS
Browse community creations by world and by tag. Follow the creators you like, favorite characters, and jump back into any story from the Continue shelf.
PLAY AS ANYONE
Personas let you choose who you are in each story: yourself, an original character, a rival, a stranger in town. Lorebooks hold the rules, places and history of your world so every character in it knows them. (Lorebooks: Infinity)
GROUP SCENES
Put up to five characters in one chat. They answer each other as well as you, each in their own voice and personality. (Infinity+)
STORY MODE
Junipero illustrates your story as you play: the scene behind the chat is redrawn as the plot moves, starring the characters you are talking to. (Infinity+, uses Junis)
HEAR THEM
Have any reply read aloud in the character's voice, or start a voice call and talk in real time. (Speak uses Junis. Voice calls: Infinity+)
PICTURES OF THE MOMENT
Generate images inside the chat or ask a character for a picture of what they see. (Uses Junis)
GOALS THAT MOVE AS YOU PLAY
Set goals and meters for a story (win the tournament, keep the ship's hull above 20) and the AI scores them as the plot unfolds. (Infinity+)
PREMIUM MODELS AND DIRECTOR MODE
Chat free on Ember, our starter model; Infinity unlocks more models, each with its own writing style, plus longer replies. Infinity+ adds Director mode, where the character plans the next beat before it replies.

Junipero is free to download and chat. Infinity and Infinity+ are optional auto-renewing subscriptions that unlock the features marked above and include a monthly allowance of Junis, the in-app currency for images, voice and Story Mode panels. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings.
All characters are fictional and their replies are written by AI. Report any character or message from inside the app.

pls add this feature! my chats feel kind of isolated because i’m stuck with the message that was originally generated.

hey - we do have regenerate functionality! swipe from right to left on the last character message, or long press and click redo with direction if you want to give it more info on how it should reply.

Overall I think this is one of the best ai apps out there, and it does beat character ai in many aspects.Junipero has a really good model called Aurora, but you have to pay for juni credits in order to use it. The other ai models besides aurora aren’t that great and I have to really work and rewrite them to make them sound like a normal person talking (the ai often tries to act like your therapist or be overly profound). I really wish the Max subscription included aurora as well. Instead, we are given only a certain number of free aurora messages that can quickly be used up, and then afterwards we’d have to pay more money. I’ve already wasted money on it. I do really like the image generators, especially for story mode, they are better quality than even Kindroid AI, which I consider to be the best ai app I have ever used. I was genuinely shocked at seeing how good the images looked, though you do have to spend juni credits on them and they don’t always turn out the way you want. I love the lore books feature, and I love how you can make the character’s personality description very long to ensure they stay in character. This is something Kindroid doesn’t have. The characters are very customisable, however they don’t always stay in character, going back to stock personalities after a while.On Junipero I would also appreciate more voices, especially ones with accents. There are only a few voices to choose from and they all have the same sort of generic American accent, vaguely sounding like a voice actor for an anime.The group chats would also be more immersive if each character could keep memories from the group chat after returning to their solo chats. I would appreciate a “chat break” button to reset the chat when the ai gets out of character without resetting and deleting all the characters previous memories. Thank you very much, great app and I’d like to see how it improves in the future. 💐

Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback! We've done some changes to how the AI models respond, which should lead to less therapy-speak. For the Max model, we've doubled the aurora messages included to 1000, which should hopefully help. We're also working on adding more voices, which should add more variety.
