Talk through your work. Monologue writes what you meant, captures walks and meetings without a bot, and hands that context to your agents.
Monologue is what happens when you talk through your work instead of typing it.
It starts as dictation that writes what you meant. Use it for voice notes on a walk. Use it for meetings without a bot. Give the transcript to your agents and keep building.
It stays with you from Cursor to a walk to a call.
WHY PEOPLE SWITCH
Most dictation apps get the words down. Monologue gets the intent. It cleans filler, matches the tone of the app you are in, and remembers your names and jargon.
WHAT YOU GET
• Dictation in any app. Cursor, Slack, email, iMessage, docs. Talk, and the text is ready to send.
• Voice notes on a walk. Record from iPhone or Apple Watch. Transcript and summary waiting when you are back.
• Meetings without a bot. Capture the call without inviting a stranger into the room.
• Ready for your agents. Hand the note to the tools you already use and keep building.
ALSO BUILT IN
• Modes that change how it writes (chat, email, code, or your own)
• Personal dictionary for names, acronyms, and product language
• 100+ languages, including mid-sentence switches
• Offline transcription on Mac

Total game changer! This makes dictation actually usable, especially for lengthy dictations. The ability to create Modes with rules for different apps or websites is amazing. The Notes feature is also very powerful and has allowed me to capture my thoughts ad hoc and send them to my Notion task inbox. Give Monologue a try, especially if you work on your phone and Mac desktop… it works seamlessly across both.
Next Level Dictation

I've tried several other dictation tools, but Monologue has by far given me the best quality and accuracy over time. It doesn't just transcribe what you said, but it processes it with an LLM to clean it up and enrich the inputs, often even figuring out what you meant to say, even if you stumbled while saying it.5/5 I always recommend this tool when anyone mentions voice dictation

I love the Every newsletter so much that the apps feel like a bonus. I fell in love with using dictation with Wispr Flow but realized I could do similar or same with Monologue. I have yet to test M on Mac and hoping it has some of the smart saving properties that Wispr does! (Like if I forget to put my cursor in the right place can I go back and grab the transcript from the app directly?) Stoked to give it a try.
Best macOS Dictation App, Finally on iOS!

I've been using Monologue for several months now on my Mac after trying several different speech-to-text apps (and nearly considering building my own because of how frustrated they made me). Monologue has been the first tool to pass the tipping point for me. The accuracy is top-notch, especially when you leverage the custom dictionary. And while iOS makes it really painful to develop third-party keyboards for their phones, Monologue's approach is very clean and already less buggy than other apps that have been in the market for years. Great work by the Every Company!(And yes, this review was written with Monologue!)
Faster dictation and more reliable Notes
- Dictation now uses real-time transcription by default, delivering transcripts faster.
- Manage speakers in Notes from one place: rename speakers, mark yourself, review transcript samples, and preview the matching audio.
- Notes recordings recover more safely after calls and other interruptions. A new Recording Recovery screen lets you export recoverable audio from Settings → Help Center.
- The Monologue keyboard now picks up mode changes made in the app without needing to restart the keyboard.
- Quick Dictation from the Action Button and Shortcuts now works without pausing other audio.
- Notes now show more accurate recording times and keep speaker colors consistent.
Plus additional reliability and performance improvements.
