This release is mostly about how Avid feels. We rebuilt its surfaces around paper and light. There's a soft grain to the pages now, cards carry real material depth, and the whole app is quieter and more considered, closer to a well-made book than a screen. Voice mode has been reborn around a new living orb that moves with the conversation, and it connects faster and far more reliably. A few more things to notice: The Letter. Once a week, Avid writes you a short, quiet letter about what you've been reading and thinking about. Opening it has a small sense of ceremony. Easier sharing. Turn any line or insight into a beautiful card on its own, with no menus to wade through. Plenty of polish. Settings follow light and dark the instant you switch, the first run is smoother, and voice no longer stalls on "connecting." A few quiet additions to this version. Long-press anything Avid writes to keep it. Your cards shelf now grows from the same conversations it draws from. When your shelf is still bare and a conversation has gone somewhere worth keeping, Avid will offer to save a passage for you. Connection errors read in Avid's voice now. Specific to where you are and what you were doing, with a path back to reading.

This release adds the small things that help us find more readers like you. If you're already with us, nothing changes about your experience. New readers joining us will see one quiet question at the end of onboarding about how they discovered Avid. Optional, and the answer doesn't change anything about the app. Thank you for being here while we keep building.

The first words after a scan now belong to the book. When you set a book down for Avid, the opener is written for that specific book and for the reading you've been doing lately. Sometimes it names a thread between this title and the last one you closed. Sometimes it just stays present, asks what drew you in, and waits.
