Avid can suggest the book already in your conversation, find Set Aside titles, and continue with an existing copy instead of asking you to add it again. Cover and barcode scanning have been rebuilt as one calm, full-screen camera. And your weekly Letters now have a shelf of their own, so earlier editions stay within reach after a new week arrives.

Your ideas now have a quieter place to land. Notes open in a focused, full-screen writing space, with a more consistent experience across Chat and Notebook. Your Reader’s Card can now show your preferred name—tap it anytime to update how Avid addresses you.

Meet Notebook—a calm new home for the ideas you don’t want to lose. Capture a Note from Notebook, a book’s Your Copy, or a reading conversation, then revisit your thoughts alongside saved Passages and Avid Insights. Notes work offline and sync when you reconnect. Avid can also bring meaningful Notes back in your Weekly Letter, turning quick observations into ideas worth returning to. This update also includes a refined Reader Card, thoughtful visual polish, and reliability improvements throughout the app.

Fixed an issue that could cause some iPhones to overheat and force close the app, so your reading and brainstorming sessions stay cooler and more stable.

This release fixes the Library and Insights notification marks so they stay attached to the tab bar through scrolling, minimizing, rotation, and appearance changes. Library also now carries the mark into Discover when a new next-read recommendation is waiting. The dots clear when the underlying item has been seen.

This release is mostly about how Avid feels. We rebuilt its surfaces around paper and light. There's a soft grain to the pages now, cards carry real material depth, and the whole app is quieter and more considered, closer to a well-made book than a screen. Voice mode has been reborn around a new living orb that moves with the conversation, and it connects faster and far more reliably. A few more things to notice: The Letter. Once a week, Avid writes you a short, quiet letter about what you've been reading and thinking about. Opening it has a small sense of ceremony. Easier sharing. Turn any line or insight into a beautiful card on its own, with no menus to wade through. Plenty of polish. Settings follow light and dark the instant you switch, the first run is smoother, and voice no longer stalls on "connecting."
