This update fixes a bug where Currently Watching could show an episode from a season that hasn't premiered yet as up next. When a new season is announced, its episodes now stay marked as upcoming until they air, so your shows read "All caught up" until there's something new to watch. If you're updating from an earlier version, you'll also get a quick tour of what arrived in 1.9: Discover, TMDB scores, Rotten Tomatoes links, and the Watchlist's new spot next to Today.

Meet Discover, plus a cleaner layout and a handful of fixes. DISCOVER The Trending tab is now Discover. Alongside what's trending today, a new shelf, New and Well-Rated on Your Services, shows the best movies and shows from the last 90 days that are streaming on the services you already have, including free with ads. Each title shows which service it's on, and one switch filters both shelves by TV shows or movies. SEE THE SCORE Every movie and show now displays its TMDB user score, so you can tell at a glance how a title is rated. READ THE REVIEWS Curious what critics think? Tap View on Rotten Tomatoes on any title to look it up. A BETTER LAYOUT - Watchlist now sits right next to Today in the tab bar. - The app reopens on the tab you were last using. - A short What's New tour now appears after each update. FIXES - Notifications that arrive while the app is open now stay in Notification Center, even with a Focus on. - watchit:// links now open the app from Safari, Shortcuts and other apps. - Opening a title now zooms from the exact card you tapped. - Smoother See All lists and pull-to-refresh on Discover.

SHARE YOUR WATCHLIST Send your whole watchlist, just your Shows or Movies, or a single title to anyone with WatchIt. Tap Share on the Watchlist, or long-press any title. When someone opens what you sent, WatchIt shows a preview and adds the new titles to their watchlist. Only titles are shared, not your watched progress. WORKS OFFLINE Your tracked shows now work without a connection. Show details, season episode lists, and where to watch are saved on your device, so they open instantly and update in the background when you're back online. A banner lets you know when you're offline, and you can still add shows. Their details fill in when you reconnect. FASTER ARTWORK Posters and backdrops are now saved on your device, so artwork you've already seen loads instantly, even after you close and reopen the app.

Fixes an issue where an upcoming episode could show a date one day late on some shows and time zones.

This update adds optional iCloud sync. Turn it on in Settings to keep your Watchlist and per-episode watched progress up to date across your iPhone and iPad, using your own private iCloud account. It's off by default, and the app still needs no account or sign-up - sync is entirely opt-in and uses only your private iCloud, never our servers. Also fixed: removing a show from your Watchlist now clears its episode history cleanly.

Keep your place in the shows you're in the middle of. A rail at the top of your Watchlist shows each show's true next episode to watch, figured out from the episodes you've already marked, so you can jump straight back in.

- Search by Actor. Look up any person and see their movies and shows, plus where to stream each one. - Watchlist Search. Instantly filter your watchlist by title or streaming service. Type "Apple TV" to see everything you track there. - On Your Services. Every title now shows at a glance which of your selected services carry it, right at the top. - Content Ratings. See a title's US rating (like PG-13 or TV-MA) in its details. - Movie Runtimes. Know exactly how long a movie is before you commit. Plus polish: details screens stay readable at large text sizes, and recent searches are saved more sensibly.

Free, ad-supported streaming now shows up. Fixed a gap in "Where Can I Watch?": free ad-supported (FAST) platforms like The Roku Channel, Tubi, and Pluto TV now appear alongside your subscription, rent, and buy options all in their own "Free with Ads" section. You'll always see every way to watch, including the free ones.

Today, front and center. The Today screen is now its own tab: Open the app and see, at a glance, every tracked show with an episode landing today. What's new in this update: - A dedicated Today tab, with local air times for shows on Apple TV, Netflix, HBO, Disney+, Prime Video, and Hulu so you know not just that something airs today, but when. - Home Screen Quick Actions: long-press the app icon to jump straight to Search, Today, Watchlist, or Trending. - Tap any episode in any show, even ones you haven't added to your Watchlist, to see the synopsis, still image, and runtime. Untracked shows get an "Add Show to Watchlist" button right inside the episode detail. - The streaming service name now appears on every Today row and inside Episode Detail, so the answer to "where do I watch this?" is right there. - Same-day episode drops (Apple TV premieres, HBO double-headers, full Netflix seasons) now surface every episode that lands today, not just one. Plus a redesigned season episode list, smarter empty states, accessibility improvements, and a handful of fixes.

WATCHLIST The "Up Next" filter is now called "Shows." It's a clearer name for the tab where your tracked TV lives. SERVICES The Hide Unavailable and Only My Services filters now sit at the top of the Services screen, where they're easy to find. A search bar in the navigation lets you jump to a specific streaming service instantly. TRENDING Trending now respects your filter preferences. Turning on Only My Services dims titles that aren't on your services so you can keep an eye on what's popular without losing sight of what you can actually watch. FIXES Fixed a bug that could make unwatchable titles render brighter than they should on Trending.
