RIC Safe is the official safety app of Rhode Island College. Integrated directly with RIC Campus Police systems, the app provides students, faculty,staff, and guests with added safety on campus.
Key Features Include:
Panic Button / Mobile Bluelight: Instantly send your location to RIC Campus Police in real-time during a crisis.
Virtual WalkHome: Users select their destination at the start of their walk, which generates an estimated trip duration. If the walk takes longer than expected, the trip expires, or a panic button is pressed, dispatch is instantly alerted and provided with the user's full walk history.
Friend Walk: Send your location to a friend via SMS so they can watch you reach your destination in real-time.
Tip Reporting: Report safety concerns or suspicious activity directly to the right department with ease.
Emergency Plans: Instant access to campus procedures for disasters or medical emergencies.
Safety Notifications: Get real-time alerts and instructions from RIC Campus Police during active on-campus emergencies.
Support Resources: A one-stop shop for campus maps, mental health resources, and "I'm OK!" check-ins for friends and family.
