The record store in your pocket. Gatefold is the OS for your music collection: vinyl, CDs, cassettes, and digital on one shelf, with deep liner notes and a record-store clerk who's read every title you own. No ads. No data mining.
THE CLERK: KNOWS YOUR WHOLE SHELF
Snarky, opinionated, deeply nerdy, and a blast to argue with. Ask for a pressing, build a playlist from your shelf, get the lore on a producer, or get your gaps roasted. He knows the pressing plants, reads the deadwax, and connects producers and samples a crate-digger would miss.
"Three Ween albums but no Chocolate and Cheese? Get on that."
TALK TO THE CLERK: HANDS-FREE
Ask out loud and he answers in his own voice: who played bass, what to spin next, the story behind the session.
CARPLAY: THE CLERK RIDES SHOTGUN
Talk to the Clerk, play today's Spin, browse your shelves, or pick a mood and let him DJ a set, all from the CarPlay dashboard.
DJ MODE
Give the Clerk a vibe and he builds a set from your shelf, with spoken patter between tracks like late-night radio.
DRIVING MODE
Your music, your calm. Gatefold reads the road and cues something from your own collection to take the edge off.
MARQUEE: YOUR TURNTABLE'S SECOND SCREEN
Prop a spare phone or tablet by the hi-fi and Marquee becomes a "now spinning" display: cover art, credits, and pressing details, updating the moment you drop the needle.
ONE SHELF: EVERY FORMAT
One-click Discogs import built for huge collections, file upload, or connect Apple Music and Tidal. Add records by cover scan, barcode, or Shazam. Your Discogs stays untouched. Gatefold reads, never writes. Play through Apple Music or Tidal with your own subscription, or hear previews.
TODAY'S SPIN
Every morning the Clerk pulls one record from your collection: off the weather, an anniversary, a music holiday, or something you haven't played in months. A pick with a reason.
THE HUNT: NEVER BUY A DUPE
New vinyl from artists you own, plus tour dates near you. Scan any record in the store and Gatefold tells you if it's already on your shelf, or saves it to your wantlist.
FOR THE DEEP COLLECTOR
Offline record-store mode for the crate dig with no signal. Collection stats, genre treemaps, and cover mosaics. A live value estimate and an insurance valuation PDF at VG+. Stylus-hour tracking so you swap the needle before it wears your records. Repress and Record Store Day alerts for artists you own. A public profile you fully control, or switch off. Turn any album into art for Instagram, X, and Bluesky.
FREE FOREVER: 10 records or 10,000. No ads, no tracking. The lights stay on two ways: Mosh Pit subscriptions and records you discover and buy.
THE MOSH PIT unlocks everything: unlimited Clerk chat, premium AI, unlimited DJ sets and Flex art, the insurance report, scrobble to Last.fm, sync your shelf to Apple Music or Tidal, concert alerts for two ZIP codes, custom notes, and unlimited shelves.

Similar to other reviews, I stumbled on this via Reddit. This app is great even if you don’t consider yourself a music nerd. But especially enjoyable if you do. It’s a really unique and interesting means of experiencing your record/Discogs collection if all you want is a tool that’s more intuitive and flexible than the Discogs app. But all of the added features enhance the experience. I never engage with AI chat unless I have to. Yet I’ve found myself unknowingly debating the merits of a few different bands with the ‘Clerk’ as well as some pointed (but not untrue) critiques of my record collection. Plus the daily recommendations are sending me into some dusty but worthwhile corners of my collection. This is clearly a labor of love for the developer as he seems to be adding new features frequently. And is incredibly responsive to feedback. You can feel the continued joy he’s channeling into this with each new update. Definitely worth checking out.

I really appreciate all the kind words and hope that it is a fun app for ALL lovers of music. I do put a lot of joy in here, and I am a huge collector and fan of music myself. I'm glad that it shows. I hope I've built you a feature or two already! Thank you again for such an amazing review.
The Best!!

I found this app on reddit and thought i’d give it try and so glad I did. This app is amazing, it gives you a record you should play for the day and why you should, and what to play after, gives recommendations to records from records you already own, shows upcoming releases, and can even add records to your want list or collection just by hearing it. Amazing app, it’s a little slow on the loading but that doesn’t stop it from being great. For a new app and app developer this is amazing, and an amazing idea that I wish I had lol. Will definitely be using this, great job!

:) Your review made me smile. I even found myself asking the Clerk if I should buy something in the store. He's a great enabler. :)
AI Clerk Makes Up Stories
TS8019
The AI clerk is just a random generator. Then when it gives info, it just makes things up. For example, it told me Michael Schenker played on a Social Distortion record to give it a metal edge. Or how it said how a record that I made was recorded, and it was just a total fabrication. Sorry, but this thing just isn’t all there. It is a lot like many record store clerks though. It knows nothing but pretends it knows everything.
Version 1.25.1
CARPLAY, TIGHTENED
A round of fixes for the car.
- Road Trip is a permanent tile on the Now tab now. It used to vanish the moment the car found signal.
- Road closure alerts name the road they mean, and won't fire for a closure that isn't ahead of you.
- The alert that ducked your music and then said nothing now actually speaks.
- The Clerk's between-track patter no longer gets cut off partway through, and it comes through at the same volume as his other announcements.
- Steadier voice sessions on long drives.
Found a record the Clerk got wrong? We read every note.
