Great handy and useful Discogs app.

This is my favorite Discogs app that I’ve used. There is a good all around ease of use and overall look of the app and layout. Searching for releases is easy and typically a quick task, depending on the release of course. The integration of your folders is better than the other apps in my opinion. Super handy to have in your pocket when at record stores. Developer pays attention to user feedback and makes improvements.

*after a response of developer answering if paying again for the all new updated version was a one time fee and not a monthly subscription, this continues to be my choice on how to access Discogs.

[Update 2/12/2022]

The new in-app purchase is a single payment, not a subscription fee. If you purchased the app after May, 1st 2020, you will get a free update.

The AppStore’s Discographic page has the option to contact us via email. Apple has made mandatory to supply a support address in every app.

I listen to the feedback of users. For instance, In your previous review you asked for a switch to override light/dark mode on the app, no matter the option you chose on the phone, and I implemented your suggestion in the next update. The changing of the purchase model of the app and the introduction of in-app purchases wants to keep this kind of attitude towards users and their feedback, as it allows to keep me involved on the maintenance and periodic update of Discographic.

[Original response]

Thanks for the feedback, it's really appreciated. Next update (4.0.3) will add a switch in configuration to enable/disable dark mode. I've also enabled iTunes Previews again. Apple Music replaced iTunes previews in the new version, though.

Recent History option is also enabled again. The reason for removing it in the first place is the fact that Discogs had been blocked third party apps to get this data, so the feature is extremely buggy and this is out of our control. Sometimes works and sometimes don't.

Version 4.0 is not a mere update of an app with almost six years since I published in 2015: it's a complete reworking to get it active and healthy for at least six years more. We have rewritten it from scratch without charging again to current users.

The best app I’ve found for managing my collection

I’m on the trial right now but so far it is a breeze to use and much more user friendly than the Discogs app. I’m most likely buying it when the trial is up.

One thing I wish we could do in this app is if a user is inside a specific folder, then I could be able to randomize a record within that folder. Another great feature would be to have a way to add records within my collection to multiple folders/genres/categories. Right now it works the same way Discogs does which has always been limiting for me.

Thanks for an amazing app!

Developer Response ,

Thanks for your review. Next update has the random feature limited to the folder the user has chosen. This has been a very demanded feature that I have already implemented on the app.

I’ve also planned to add “virtual folders” or “intelligent folders” to the app in next upgrades. I mean, custom folders that can can manage their contents by some feature or a mix of features (genre, style, date of purchase, a custom feature defined by the user…). These folders could have instances of your records without duplicate the release you own and it’s already saved on your collection.

Best music collector app available

This is a fantastic app. I’ve tried many music cataloging apps with little success. The only other app that was even remotely worthwhile was the official Discogs app (for the best music database for collectors). Yet the app was also wonky at best and would often freeze or crash while using it. The official Discogs app was inconsistent and often frustrating. The solution? This wonderfully designed app. It has perfect Discogs integration and even better features. It makes music collecting even more fun. This is a must-have app for anyone serious about music and vinyl.
