Anchor: Private Journal
Private Journal & Check-Ins
Free · In‑App Purchases
Describe your day in 60 seconds, or write it out. Everything stays encrypted on your device: no accounts, no servers, no data collection.
Anchor is a private journal that never leaves your device. No accounts, no servers, no data collection. Your entries are encrypted on your phone and stay there.
DESCRIBE YOUR DAY IN 60 SECONDS
Some days you do not want to type. Record a 60-second voice note instead. Recordings are encrypted on your device, exactly like your writing, and they travel inside your encrypted backup. Sixty seconds is the whole format: long enough for a day, short enough that you actually do it.
WRITE THE WAY YOU THINK
A rich text editor for journal entries, gratitude logs, dream diaries and quick notes. Titles, tags, and a calendar so you can find anything again.
MEET KAI, YOUR JOURNAL COMPANION
Kai is an AI companion that reflects on your entries, looks at your dreams with you, or offers a prompt when the page stays blank. You bring your own API key (OpenAI, Anthropic or DeepSeek) and you choose exactly which kinds of entries Kai may see. Nothing is shared by default, and conversations are stored only on your device.
SEE HOW YOU ARE DOING
Check in with your mood, energy and stress in seconds. Charts show the patterns over weeks and months, with no judgement, no streaks and no goals.
REMEMBER WHAT MATTERS
Birthdays, anniversaries and personal milestones, with gentle reminders that stay on your device.
BUILT FOR PRIVACY
- AES-256 encrypted database, always on, nothing to switch on
- PIN and biometric lock (fingerprint / Face ID)
- Private entries behind an extra layer
- Share Mode shows a therapist or a friend only the entries you picked
- Screenshot protection
- No analytics, no tracking, no accounts, no servers
HONEST ABOUT ADS
Anchor is free and shows a small banner. Ads are non-personalized by default, and you can change that choice any time in Settings. Would you rather have none at all? Watch a short video for three ad-free days.
YOUR BACKUP, YOUR CLOUD
Back up to your own iCloud, encrypted with a password only you know. Anchor cannot read that file, and neither can anyone else.
SIX THEMES
Light, Dark, Earth, Pastel, Forest and Sunset.
FIVE LANGUAGES
English, German, Arabic, French and Spanish.
Anchor does not want your data. It has nowhere to put it.
