H.E.L.P. Recovery Mode, also known as HSS Recovery, is a patient-facing recovery support app designed to help participants stay connected, reflect on daily progress, access care contacts, and find support during difficult moments. The app works with the H.E.L.P. Solutions Systems dashboard used by authorized staff. Patients do not self-register through the app; access is created through the staff dashboard to support program-based use, privacy controls, and a structured care workflow. With H.E.L.P. Recovery Mode, participants can: Use Recovery Mode Turn Recovery Mode on to view zone status and receive nearby safe-zone suggestions. When enabled, the app can help identify nearby supportive places such as recovery centers, hospitals, clinics, libraries, gyms, cafes, parks, and similar locations, depending on availability and local data. Users can open directions through Google Maps when a suggested location is available. Complete daily check-ins Patients can record mood, cravings, energy level, sleep, and related reflections. These check-ins help participants build awareness of patterns and help authorized staff identify when follow-up may be needed. The dashboard can surface high-risk alerts so staff can focus attention on patients who may need support. Write emotional reflections The app allows patients to record longer reflections about how they are feeling. These entries can help care teams better understand what a patient is experiencing and support more informed follow-up. Access care-team contacts Patients can keep important recovery contacts in one place, including case managers, sponsors, counselors, family members, and other support contacts. The Care Team area helps reduce the need to search through a full phone contact list during stressful moments. Use emergency and crisis-resource shortcuts The home screen includes shortcut access to 911, 988, and 211. These buttons open the phone dialer instead of automatically placing a call, helping reduce accidental calls while keeping crisis resources close. The app also includes emergency contact messaging that can prepare a message with a location link for the user to send. View appointments, events, and treatment information Patients can see upcoming appointments, program events, treatment plans, and related recovery information added through the staff dashboard. Virtual appointment workflows may also be available when configured by the organization. Stay connected through messages and notifications Patients can receive notifications and communicate with their care team through the connected dashboard workflow, helping programs maintain better engagement between scheduled visits. H.E.L.P. Recovery Mode is intended to support recovery engagement, program communication, and safety planning. It is not a replacement for emergency services, licensed medical care, legal counsel, or clinical judgment. In an emergency, call 911. For mental health crisis support in the United States, call or text 988.
