If Bluetooth is off or the app doesn't have permission, you'll now see a clear walkthrough before paying — instead of a confusing error after. Tap 'Open Settings' to fix permission instantly; return to the app and we'll detect it on our own. Eliminates the rare case where a customer would tap Try Again repeatedly and never get to start the rental.

After you secure the lock, the app now confirms 'Lock secured' on screen and highlights the End Rental button — no more guessing whether your physical action was registered. The End-Rental confirmation also adapts so it doesn't ask you to lock something that's already locked.

Grace period after ending a rental — If you tap End by mistake before putting the kayak away, you now have 5 minutes to tap "I'm not done" and keep the rental open so you can put it back without being charged again.
