ATM Chat
Mesh chat without internet
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
ATMChat is a decentralized messaging app that works entirely offline. Messages travel directly between nearby devices using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth — no internet, no servers, no accounts, no phone numbers.
PERFECT FOR
• Flights, airplane mode, and travel
• Remote areas with no cellular signal
• Events, conferences, festivals
• Any situation where you need to reach nearby people without the internet
EVERYONE NEARBY — GROUP CHAT
• One shared room with everyone on the mesh — no setup, no invites
• Pinned at the top of your chat list with a live online count
• Sender names on every message
MESSAGING FEATURES
• Text messages with delivery and read receipts
• Photos and videos (sent peer-to-peer, not through any server)
• Send up to 10 photos at once — auto-compressed to deliver even over Bluetooth
• Voice messages
• Contact cards and file sharing
• Rich link previews
• Reply to specific messages
• Emoji reactions
• Delete messages for everyone
• Save any photo or video to your library — or a whole chat's media in one tap
NOTIFICATIONS, YOUR WAY
• Choose which alerts you get — messages, media, or peer-joined
• Mute any single chat from its options menu
• Peer alerts show the person's name and never repeat within half an hour
MESH NETWORKING
• Multi-hop relay — messages reach people beyond your direct range through intermediate devices
• Dual transport: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work simultaneously
• Messages queue when a peer is temporarily out of range and deliver automatically on reconnect
• Stable device identity survives display-name changes and network transitions
IDENTITY & CUSTOMIZATION
• Pick any display name — change it anytime
• Custom avatar support
• Connected peers count at a glance
PRIVACY
• No data collection. No analytics. No tracking. No ads. Ever.
• Messages stay on your device — we have no servers, we can't read anything
• Stable device ID stored only in your device's Keychain
• Privacy policy: https://www.approvethemove.com/chat/privacy.html
ACCESSIBILITY
• Full VoiceOver support with semantic groupings
• Dynamic Type scales every text element
• High-contrast design — dark and light modes
• No color-only information — every status has a text label too
Built by Approve The Move — genuinely useful apps, always free, no subscriptions.

• Notification controls: pick which alerts you get in Settings → Notifications, or mute any single chat
• Save All Media: save every photo and video in a chat to your library in one tap
• Save received videos to Photos
IMPROVED
• "Peer Connected" alerts now show the person's name and no longer repeat for the same person
• Send up to 10 photos at once — auto-compressed so they deliver over Bluetooth too
• No more banners for the chat you're currently reading
As always: no accounts, no servers, no internet — everything stays on your devices.
