I don’t even write reviews but I had to say that I just got this like 20 minutes ago, but the swipe feature for new vocab literally takes away all anxiety stemming from the desire to swipe. And I just did a crossword (that it generated based on the new words it introduced to me— which said I knew and wanted to know), and idk why it works so well but I’m immediately amazed at how successful I ACTUALLY am at eventually deciphering the words I literally JUST learned. I’m just getting started. Looks like an app that is ACTUALLY WORTH PAYING FOR

Multiple mistakes

The app does not offer what it advertises. The “grammar” chat lesson have nothing to do with grammar. They are only built-in AI chats that do not correct or teach grammar so they are not even configured to serve the purpose. Other “teaching games” in the app have multiple mistakes such as consistent use of archaisms (words used hundreds years ago, not in modern language). I understand that many apps are created with AI, but they still have to be checked and tailored for real experience. This is a very lazy built. I left a feedback to developers of the app with these issues and obvious language mistakes, but had not hear back. Besides that, the app was severely glitching while submitting in-app feedback. The kind of glitch I see when I developed web sites with weak AI models and have to fix that later.

good first impression, disappointing overall

Has a lot of flash up front, and certainly is a lot less repetitive than the original language app; however, is clearly built out by AI and therefore has several massive interface errors. Despite the instructions, I’m finding that the flash cards will never flip upon tapping (though they do move on with my swipes, which means I’m not really learning from them). As well, there are multiple examples where the instructions will have grammatical errors and spacing problems in the text, which really concerns me since I would likely be missing these errors in the new language, if they’re occurring. Definitely had fun trying something new, but I’m not sure verbi is for me! Sad.

No good time

I really like the concept of this app, but the voice recognition is too inconsistent. I often pronounce a word the same way twice. The first time, it tells me it’s incorrect, but when I repeat the exact same pronunciation, it suddenly accepts it as correct. Because of this, I waste most of the 3-minute voice practice repeating words that I already pronounced correctly. As a result, I can’t finish the lesson or unlock the next level. The 3-minute limit is simply not enough when the app keeps asking you to repeat the same words. I hope the developers improve the voice recognition and either extend or remove the time limit.
