Tap it to open the 7-day charts. • Now in Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Simplified Chinese. • Visit timer on the Lock Screen: while you're at a place, a Live Activity counts up from arrival, in the Dynamic Island too. Open How Long during a visit to start it, or run the Show Visit Timer shortcut from an arrival automation. • Ask Siri: "How long have I been here in How Long", or "How long at the gym this week in How Long". • A What's New screen after each update, and in Settings. • Settings now has Contact Support, Rate How Long, and Privacy Policy links. • Fixed: sharing a Trip Recap or Year in Review card opened an empty share sheet, and the card was clipped. • How Long may ask for a rating after a few weeks of use. Fixed: places you visit are now detected reliably If you have more than a handful of saved places, How Long was only watching some of them — and not necessarily the ones near you. Arrivals could be missed entirely until you opened the app. How Long now always watches the places closest to you and keeps that up to date as you travel. Travel Mode: Hiking Detection Travel Mode now recognizes hikes and slow-motion visits that iOS's built-in stop-detection misses. Walk a trail or wander a scenic overlook for 20+ minutes and the place gets saved automatically, even if you never stood still. Trail-shaped places: hikes save as the actual walked path on the map, not a generic circle. A wide entry corridor means returning to any part of the trail counts as a visit — no false-trigger from parallel roads. Circle-to-trail upgrade: if Travel Mode already saved somewhere as a circle and you later walk a trail through it, the circle gets automatically upgraded to the recorded path. Motion-aware: continuous GPS only runs when you're actually walking. Toggle "Only while walking" off if you'd rather trade battery for reliability without motion permission. Smoother Trip Playback Filter to a category on the map and the driving route between places now replays smoothly — a pulsing blue marker glides along real roads from your first place to your last, holds the destination for 10 seconds, then loops. No more flicker or disappearing lines when you zoom. Trip Recap Share a summary of any trip or category as an image. Shows a map of the places, total days, hours, distance, and your top spot for that trip. Notes on Places Add free-form notes to any place — parking instructions, door codes, hours, tips you want to remember later. Editable any time. Better Ratings Half-star ratings on any place (0.5–5). Drag to set precisely, or tap to snap. Friend Sharing Improvements Per-category share toggles: pick exactly which categories a friend can see instead of sharing everything. Optional "Share photos" toggle per friend. Individually shared places now stick around even when you turn category-shares off. Travel Mode Polish A photo taken during the visit can auto-attach to the created place. Reminder before Travel Mode auto-expires so you can extend it if you're still traveling. Smarter place naming — nearby POIs (restaurants, parks, trailheads) are matched more reliably. Sensible default radius per POI type: a park gets a bigger geofence than a café. Under the Hood Faster map performance when you have hundreds of pins. Better geofence handling for large trails and places with multiple sub-locations. Improved battery telemetry in the Debug tab.

Stats tab — fully rebuilt Headline summary at the top: "You spent X hours across N places this [month]" with month-over-month comparison ("Up 11.5 days from last month") and your most-active day. Insights cards — auto-generated nuggets like "Longest visit ever: 14h at Cabin (Aug 12)", "Tuesdays are your busiest", "Streak alert: 2 more visits to Gym this week", and anniversary milestones (1m / 6m / 1y / 2y). Goal dashboard card showing "X of Y goals on track this week" with per-place mini progress bars. Charts — fully rebuilt Replaced the 3-tab picker with a scrolling dashboard of 5 charts, all driven by one period selector (30D / 90D / Year / All). NEW: Day × Hour heatmap — see exactly when you visit places, by day-of-week and hour. Tap a cell to see "Tuesday at 3pm — 8 visits, mostly Coffee Shop." NEW: Category donut — hours by category for the chosen period, with a percent breakdown when you tap a slice. Hours per week is now a stacked chart — see composition by category (or top 5 places + "Other") so you can tell where your week went, not just the total. Press-and-hold a week for 0.5 s to "pin" its breakdown so it stays after you lift your finger. Hours by place is now period-bound and shows visit count alongside hours. By day of week has a Visits ↔ Hours toggle. Photos & videos at a place New "View photos here" option in the map's pin callout. New per-visit swipe action / context menu in a place's visit history to see photos taken during that specific visit. Backed by the Photos library on your device — nothing uploaded, ever. Videos are included with a play-icon + duration badge, and play full-screen in the gallery. Pro feature. Map pin callout Tapping a pin on the Places map now shows a small bottom sheet with three options: View photos here (Pro) View stats — opens the place's visit history + streaks Open place — goes to edit Friends New "Share visit history" master toggle per friend: turn on once, pick 7 days / 30 days / all, and every existing + future share inherits the setting. After flipping it on, you're prompted to share past visits too so the friend's history starts complete instead of empty. Auto-share now correctly enables for newly-added places when the master toggle is on. (Bug fix.) "Notify me for all locations" intent is now inherited by newly-added places. (Bug fix.) Renaming a shared place now syncs to the friend's view. (Bug fix.) If you share a place while you're currently inside it, the friend immediately sees you're there — no need to leave and come back. New "Implemented" section at the bottom of the Browse list, with a green checkmark, showcasing ideas that have shipped. Suggested places Swipe left on a suggested place to reveal Ignore. Ignoring now opens a map preview with a live radius slider (in meters or feet, matching your preference) so you can see exactly how big an area you're muting before confirming. Bug fixes False "you left a place" events: fixed two cases where the app would close an active visit even though you hadn't moved or disconnected from Wi-Fi. When iOS briefly couldn't report the connected Wi-Fi SSID (common in the background), we used to treat that as "you left." Now we only mark you as having left when we know you're on a different network. When GPS drifted a few meters outside a tight geofence radius, the exit fired even with you still on the place's Wi-Fi. Now Wi-Fi presence overrides geofence drift and vetoes the false exit. Map "go to my location" button didn't actually go to your location — it only zoomed to a saved place or fit-all. Now it pans to your GPS when you're not inside a saved place.
