Another widget fix: open entry windows now hold their rightful place on the Marathon Countdown widget. Cape Town's ballot (and other charity/registration windows that are open right now) were being sorted behind deadlines months away, so they could fall off the widget. Now the soonest-closing open window shows where it belongs — counting down to its close date alongside everything else.

Quick fix on the heels of 1.2.0: the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon — the newest Abbott World Marathon Major — now shows up on your home screen widgets too, not just inside the app. If a Cape Town deadline is your closest one, the Marathon Countdown and Action Required widgets will say so, exactly like they do for the other seven Majors.

The Abbott World Marathon Majors just grew to eight — Cape Town is in, and its full 2027 timeline is already here. 1.2.0 adds the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon, Africa's first Major: • Complete 2027 entry timeline — ballot window, results day, charity & tour operator entries, and race day on Sunday 23 May 2027 • Cape Town course on the map with animated route playback • Its deadlines flow into Action Required, widgets, and reminders like every other Major Entry dates are tracked live, so whatever stage the 2027 cycle is in when you read this — the next deadline is already on your timeline.

Your marathon used to disappear from the widget the moment the gun went off. Not anymore. 1.1.0 adds race-day live mode: • Marathon stays on the widget with an elapsed clock instead of vanishing at start time • Tap in to see your live position on the course — the route splits into what you've covered and what's ahead, with a "km to go" caption • 48-hour grace period after the race so you can mark it complete on your own time Plus a refreshed Tokyo 2027 charity entry note and a small home-screen rename ("Star Chaser" with a space).

This update brings StarChaser to Polish, German, Spanish, and French. Switch language anytime from iOS Settings → StarChaser → Language. We've also added GPX support — share or open any .gpx file with StarChaser to add a custom marathon with the route, name, and city pre-filled. Plus: course playback now shows distance and percentage in your local units (km in metric regions, mi elsewhere), the Add Event sheet has clear buttons on text fields and defaults to today's date, and a small visual glitch where the gold "completed" line stopped one segment short of the finish flag is fixed.
