WeatherNavigator now includes a permanent Free tier, keeping route planning, turn-by-turn navigation, weather-coloured routes, live hazard layers and essential safety alerts available to everyone. Skye Premium now focuses on conversational assistance, personalised trip briefings, Best Time to Leave insights and advanced route recommendations. Free users may see one clearly labelled advertisement while stationary and reviewing a route. Ads never appear during active navigation or on CarPlay. This update also improves fire and smoke loading, hazard accuracy, route colours and coverage messaging, helping you make safer decisions before and during every drive.

Precipitation maps are now smoother and more continuous when zooming, with substantially reduced tile seams and horizontal edge cut-offs. This update also improves radar animation, recovery from temporarily unavailable weather tiles, and overall map stability.

WeatherNavigator 1.2.2 introduces a global smoke forecast layer with clearer intensity and health guidance, smooth plume boundaries and map-friendly transparency. Live Activities, Siri shortcuts and a commute weather widget provide quicker access to trip updates. Fire and flood hazards now contribute to route risk comparisons, with clearer map legends. The directional banner and Skye's spoken cues no longer fall behind mid-trip on long routes. Maneuver announcements land on time, every time. • Smarter weather refresh. WeatherNavigator now schedules forecast updates based on when the underlying weather model can actually change, not a fixed timer. Fewer redundant fetches, less battery drain, same continuous route coverage. • Quieter on-ramps and off-ramps. Long highway ramp approaches used to fire up to four overlapping voice cues. They're now collapsed to a single 500-metre warning plus an "act now" cue at the turn - clear without being repetitive. • Cleaner map controls. Skye sits at the centre of the bottom bar at all times. The 2D/3D view toggle is now available before you start navigating, not just during. The re-centre button has moved to the upper-left, mirroring the compass on the right. • Apple Weather attribution now sits along the bottom edge beside the Google Maps wordmark, where you'd expect to see continuous data-provider credits. • More reliable emergency filtering. We fixed an edge case where a slow-moving outback flood warning, re-issued daily by the Bureau of Meteorology, was being flagged as a critical emergency for drivers thousands of kilometres away.
