What's new in 1.2.17 Sharper handwriting feedback This release makes our writing feedback noticeably better at telling a correct letter from one that's almost-but-not-quite right — the heart of what Coolphabets does. • Missing pieces are caught more reliably. If your child leaves out part of a letter, it's now spotted across far more letters in every language — and the little pink circle points to exactly the spot that needs ink. • Stroke order is graded honestly. Drawing a letter in the wrong order no longer slips through as "correct," even when the shape looks close. • Clearer "What happened" after each try. The explanation now leads with what really happened — a habit to fix, a missing part, or a mix-up — in plain, kid-friendly language, with no confusing or contradictory messages. • Steadier, more accurate scoring. Dozens of letters across Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada got a tune-up so the score better reflects how the letter was actually written. As always, everything runs right on your device — no internet needed, and your child's writing never leaves the iPad or iPhone.

What's new in 1.2.16 Smarter, fairer handwriting grading — our biggest scoring upgrade yet, across all languages! • Fair credit for almost-there letters — a letter missing one piece now earns partial credit instead of 0, and the app shows exactly where the missing piece goes with a friendly pink marker. • Mirror-writing coaching — young writers often flip letters like in a mirror. The app now spots it and gently shows which way the letter really goes. • "What happened?" now tells the exact reason — every score comes with the one true cause, like "your ink covered 82% of the letter" or "shaky strokes capped it." • Scribbles can't fool the scorer anymore — quick scribbles no longer get "100% neat," and the advice they get is honest. • Score and result always agree — no more seeing 70% next to a "try again." • Sharper Telugu letter recognition — lookalike letters like ఛ/భ are now recognized far more accurately, so your child isn't told "wrong letter" when they wrote it right. We've made practice feedback clearer and polished things under the hood. • After a tricky letter, the "What happened?" review now also shows Steps — whether your child drew the strokes in the right order and direction — alongside Shape and Neatness. What's New in 1.2.14 Smarter handwriting feedback — the app now notices HOW a letter is written, not just what it looks like: strokes drawn backwards, in the wrong order, in pieces, scribbled over, or with a part missing are gently caught, checked against each language's official writing charts. "What happened?" after every miss — a friendly report pops up showing your child's own writing replayed over the correct letter, pointing at exactly what went wrong and how to score higher. Parents can switch it to on-demand inside the report. Help that arrives at the right moment — a glowing hint at the trouble spot after repeated misses, a pointer to the letter video for the full motion, and the "having trouble?" helper only when a child is truly stuck in the current sitting. An honest score — a detected mistake can never sneak past as a pass, so the score your child beats is one they truly earned. Fixes & polish — base-consonant attempts no longer count twice, switching profiles no longer jumps you away from the letter you were practicing, and practice streaks reset properly between sittings.

What's New in 1.2.13 Neatness counts now — a rushed or scribbled letter no longer gets an automatic 100%. Your child sees a real score they can work up to. Beat your best — every attempt shows their score and their best-so-far ("New Best!"), turning practice into a friendly race against themselves. Always encouraging — writing the right letter always earns a thumbs-up (a messy one just scores lower); only a wrong letter or the wrong stroke order shows "try again." Base consonants now score just like vowels. Smoother, faster tracing — strokes curve naturally from the very start and stay snappy even on long, complex letters and on iPad. The app also starts faster. Fixes & polish — a drawn letter is now always graded (no more "stuck" screen), you won't get bumped to a different letter mid-practice, and parents can once again set the mastery target up to 95%.

Kannada language finally lands for everyone, a whole new game and a stack of stability + speed fixes. • New: Word Mixer — a fast-paced "find all the hidden words from these letters" puzzle. Solo mode times you against your personal best; Family Time Trial passes the device around so siblings and parents can race the same puzzle. • Kannada is now available to pick when creating a child profile. We held it back in 1.2.9 for one more tuning pass; that pass is done. • Tracing videos for Kannada — tap the play icon at the top-right of the canvas to watch a short demo of how each Kannada letter is written. Same feature you've had for Telugu / Hindi / Marathi / Tamil. • Sharper Kannada handwriting recognition — model retrained on a larger, more diverse sample set (including a native-writer batch). Accuracy went from ~96% to ~98% on the held-out test. • Memory Match works properly in Tamil and Kannada — every card now has its own distinct picture instead of a generic placeholder, so the match game is actually playable in those languages. • High scores are per-child — Word Mixer best times are now saved per kid profile (previously one child's record could overwrite another's). • Smoother gameplay — Word Mixer's clock no longer makes the whole screen redraw 10 times a second; animations stay snappy on older iPhones. • Audio doesn't linger — if your kid quickly taps out of a screen mid-celebration, the word audio that was about to play correctly stops instead of speaking over the next screen. • Purchase reliability fix — fixed a rare case where Apple's StoreKit returned a stale "success" for an already-expired subscription, briefly granting access then yanking it. The app now double-checks before celebrating a purchase. • Cleaner language picker — the 5 available languages now show together at the top, and the "coming soon" ones below.

Stability, speed, and quality-of-life improvements across the app. • Fixed a rare crash that could happen after tracing a letter when the difficulty had adapted below 70%. • Family Sharing invites now show a clear message when something goes wrong, instead of silently doing nothing. • Smoother games — Picture Match, Word Match, Missing Letter, Fill Sentence, and Letter Maze all start rounds faster, with no duplicate-image distractors. • Better variety in word games — distractor options now draw from the full alphabet, exposing kids to letters they haven't mastered yet. • Memory Match now shows distinct picture cards instead of generic placeholders. • Per-child settings — the "Game Engagement" toggle for using all letters in games is now saved per child profile (was previously shared across all profiles). • Parent PIN now locks out after repeated wrong attempts (5 → 1 min, 10 → 5 min, 15 → 30 min). • Shared family dashboards now show the correct word/sentence counts for the language each child is actually learning. • Language pack downloads retry more reliably; the banner shows accurate status and clearer success text. • Word reveal and mastery celebrations are smoother — animations and audio no longer linger after you navigate away. We're still polishing Kannada ahead of its public launch — it's not selectable yet in this build.

Tamil is here. Full Tamil support — letters, words, sentences, and uyirmey combinations — with our newest handwriting recognizer (96.5% accuracy). தமிழ் கற்க இப்போது தயார்! New game: Treasure Hunt. Kids hunt across a village scene for hidden letters to build a word, or words to build a sentence. Three difficulty levels, solo and family modes, in all supported languages. Smaller app, faster install. Audio is now downloaded per language only when you need it — your install is lighter and the languages you don't use don't take up space. Cleaner sentences across all languages. We removed filler "This is X" sentences and added 70+ real Tamil sentences. Telugu, Hindi, and Marathi now have parity at ~520 sentences each. Lots of polish. Game hints in 10+ games, improved nudges when a child is stuck, smoother Practice Together for combos with rare vowel forms, Marathi audio routing fixed, Hindi recognizer load smoothed, and many family-sharing reliability fixes.

Version 1.2.3 This update fixes a critical issue where reinstalling the app could make your child's progress appear lost, and adds parent voice recording for sentences.
