On iOS 27, Highlight takes advantage of Apple’s newer, larger on-device model for faster processing and more detailed summaries.
YOUR EYES & EARS ONLY
Highlight is designed to keep your recordings and related content private. It uses Apple Intelligence, including the on-device Foundation Models, to write summaries, name recordings and highlights, and structure your transcript. It uses Apple’s on-device Speech framework to transcribe audio. Processing happens on device. Nothing is sent to any third-party AI service.
If you turn on iCloud Sync, your recordings and related content are stored in your private iCloud database so they can stay in sync across your devices. That data is tied to your iCloud account and is not stored on or accessible through Cohdoo servers.
GOOD TO KNOW
* Highlight is available on iPhone.
* Highlight Intelligence features require a device that supports Apple Intelligence.
* Sharing individual highlights, transcript sentences, and Follow Along requires the recording to have a transcript.
* Highlight Intelligence processing time depends on device capabilities.
* If you share a processed recording, included transcript and summary content can still be viewed on devices without Apple Intelligence.
* iCloud Sync is optional and off by default.

While you’re recording, Highlight now appears in the Apple Watch Smart Stack so you can mark an important moment right from your wrist. Great for interviews, meetings, and conversations where tapping your phone can break the flow.
Also new:
- Start with Siri. Say “Start a recording in Highlight” or “Start Highlight” anywhere Siri works.
- Find recordings with Spotlight. Search for a recording by name from the Home Screen and jump straight into it.
- Start recording from Control Center. Add Highlight’s new Start Recording control to Control Center, the Lock Screen, or the Action Button.
- Do more with Shortcuts. New actions let you play recordings, get summaries, find recordings, and toggle favorites as part of your own shortcuts and automations.
