DeMotion turns Live Photos into plain stills — in place, in batches, on your device.
WHY USE DEMOTION
- Live Photos pack a video clip you rarely watch with the still you actually want. That clip can take 1-3 MB per photo. Across thousands of photos that's gigabytes of iCloud quota burning.
- Apple's "Duplicate as still" creates a copy and breaks "this day in history". Manual editing is one photo at a time.
- DeMotion strips just the video layer in place. Same photo identity, same date, same GPS, same album membership. The still stays. The clip is gone.
WHAT IT DOES
- Detects every Live Photo in your library in seconds.
- Lets you select what to strip (free tier: 20 per batch; Premium: unlimited).
- Strips the video component atomically per asset. If a single photo fails, the rest of the batch still completes.
- Preserves capture date, location, EXIF, album membership, edits, iCloud sync state.
- Apple Photos "Revert to original" still works for stripped Live Photos.
PRIVACY
- 100% on-device. Your photos never leave your phone.
- No accounts. No login. No account, no cloud upload: your photos are processed on your device. No analytics.
- Free tier shows ads (banner only, never on photo content). Premium removes ads.
