Pill Pondering
Reminders for your meds
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
A simple, distraction-free way to keep track of your medications and share what you've taken with your doctor. Built by a family physician.
Pill Pondering is a straightforward medication reminder app, designed by a
practicing family physician for his own patients — and made available to
anyone who wants a calmer, less cluttered way to keep track of their meds.
No accounts. No ads. No data sent anywhere unless you choose to share it.
WHAT IT DOES
- Set up your medications once, with the strength your prescription actually
says — names and available strengths come from the U.S. National Library
of Medicine's RxNorm database, so you don't have to guess at the spelling.
- Get reminders at the times you take them. Mark each dose taken or skipped
right from the notification, even when the app isn't open.
- Track adherence over time. The history screen shows every dose you've
logged, organized by day.
- Share a one-page summary with your provider. Pick a time range — 30 days,
90 days, or longer — and Pill Pondering generates a clean PDF you can
email, message, or print.
SCHEDULES THAT FIT REAL LIFE
- Once-a-day pills with custom times
- Multiple doses per day
- Every-X-hours antibiotics, with start and end of your day
- Weekly, monthly, every 6 months — for injectables and infrequent meds
- As-needed (PRN) medications you log when you take them
DESIGNED FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY TAKE MEDICATIONS
- Large, tappable controls — easy on the eyes and the fingers
- Works the same way every time. No mystery menus, no surprise updates that
move things around.
- Refill tracking with a low-supply warning, so you're not caught short
- "Take with food" or "empty stomach" reminders built into the alert text
- Each medication can have its own color and icon so they're easy to tell
apart at a glance
PRIVACY
Pill Pondering keeps everything on your device. There are no servers, no
accounts, and no analytics. The only time information leaves your phone is
when you tap "Share" yourself — and then only to whomever you send it to.
Drug-name lookups go to the U.S. National Library of Medicine's public
RxNorm service. Those requests contain only the partial name you're typing,
nothing about you.
IMPORTANT
Pill Pondering is a reminder and tracking tool. It is not a substitute for
medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always follow the dosing
instructions given by your prescribing clinician.
This app does not provide dose recommendations, drug-interaction warnings,
or clinical guidance of any kind.
