TrekDex turns hiking into something you can actually finish.
Browse thousands of parks, preserves, and wilderness areas, each with every trail mapped from open data. Pick one and TrekDex tracks which trails you've completed — so "hike the whole park" becomes a real, visible goal.

Start a recording and TrekDex follows your route with GPS, on the map and in the background, then saves the path, distance, and elevation.
TRACK EVERY TRAIL
Completion is tracked per trail and per area. Finish a trail and it's marked done; watch an area climb toward 100%. Your progress lives on your device, no account required.
SEE THE TERRAIN BEFORE YOU GO
Every trail carries an elevation profile and a gain-based difficulty rating, and parking is shown for the trail you're eyeing so you know where to start.
STATS THAT MEAN SOMETHING
Distance, elevation, streaks, and badges — built from your real recordings.
BUILT FOR THE OUTDOORS
Works offline once an area is loaded. Imperial or metric. A clean map with only the pins that matter.
TrekDex is free. An optional tip jar says thanks. It unlocks nothing.

- Improved area menu
- Swipe to the right on the area menu to see the new recording panel
- Sort trails by nearest to you, shortest, longest, most progress, or A-Z.
- Live estimates while you hike. One for when you'll finish the trail, and one for when you'll be back to where you started. *This feature still needs some work*.
- Tapping Record on a different trail no longer discards the hike you are on. (previous bug)
- Trail line turning cyan as you hike is more responsive
- Insights moved into Stats
- Recent Hikes is newest first
- Onboarding screen now shows properly on fresh install, including asking for location access when intended
