Plays now read as plays. Standard Ebooks editions of drama were arriving nearly empty, because each speech lives in a table row the parser used to skip. Every line is back, and the speaker's name sits in italics ahead of it. The same fix restores the Etymology table that opens Moby Dick. If you added the same book on two devices while offline or signed out, your library could end up holding it twice. Sync now recognises the second copy as the same book and merges the two. In books that contain tables, a few notes or likes may sit a paragraph away from where you left them after this update.

Reading streaks now sync across your devices, subscription handling is more reliable, and assorted polish throughout.

This update is about steadiness. Reels no longer freeze after a long stay in the background, the reader no longer sticks on its loading screen when an open is interrupted, and Listen Mode survives a phone call — it pauses for the call, then picks up where you were. The app also holds less in memory while you read and listen, which older iPhones will feel. And For You, the daily shelf for IO+ readers, now picks from the whole catalog and says why each book made the cut.

Standard Ebooks downloads land reliably now. The server sometimes handed us its "Your Download Has Started!" page instead of the book; we ask for the book directly. Meanwhile the shelves keep growing: new classics have joined the curated library — more than five hundred books, with the whole of Project Gutenberg and Standard Ebooks a search away.

Passages you keep now look the way they do in the book. In your keepsake box, verse breaks into lines instead of running together, italics and small caps survive, and a quotation with two paragraphs stays two paragraphs. Small caps render in Reels as well — proper nouns in Standard Ebooks editions had been showing as ordinary text. AI now runs on one model for everyone, so the model chooser is gone from the chat header and from Settings.

Chapter pages in Reels now open the way a book does: titles sit centered on their own page in larger type, instead of crowding the left margin. Scrubbing shows where you'll land. While you drag the progress bar, the readout beneath it names the chapter and exact position — and it no longer covers the buttons above the bar.

Reading positions now stay where you left them. This update fixes places that could jump ahead after a re-read or a jump back through the contents, and the cross-device prompt appears only when another device really is somewhere else in the book — choosing Keep Current Position now keeps it. Sign in with Google is available again alongside Apple. Charter joins the reading fonts, and shared quote cards carry the IO reader wordmark.

We reworked the free plan in this update. Every reader now starts with 100 included AI responses, and a small monthly allowance continues after those are used. IO+ remains unlimited. Advanced mode now runs on a newer, faster Gemini model, and Thinking mode is gone since it mostly added waiting without better answers.
