more Pens now respond instantly to pressure — no more lag or delayed thickening as you draw. Every pen got this treatment, so lines track your pressure the moment you apply it.
New pen: Sparkle, replacing Chevron in the Pattern collection.
Recently-used pen colors now stay within reach — the color you just drew with moves to the front of the row automatically.

New pens: Airbrush for soft, blended color fills, and Splatter for laying down multiple colors at once — plus Dashed, Hearts, and Chevron for pattern work.
Pen Studio is now organized into Basic, Paint, and Pattern tabs, so it's easier to find the pen you want as the collection keeps growing.
Bug fixes and performance improvements.

This update includes improvements to timelapse video creation and some behind-the-scenes fixes for smoother layers and drawing.

Tap any AI caption to rewrite it your way — it updates wherever that doodle lives, private or community.
New shortcut: jump straight to editing an existing background photo instead of picking a new one.
Your own community posts now show a play button so you (and everyone else) can watch the timelapse.
Smaller file sizes and smoother performance for doodles with background photos.

What's New (App Store):
Stamps just got way better. You can now grab and drag any stamp instantly — no tap, no long press needed. It feels like playing with stickers again.
Drawing in stamp mode now works the way you'd expect: draw anywhere on the canvas without accidentally switching modes. Switch between drawing and stamping using the toolbar button, not by accident.
The stamp palette no longer drifts off-screen, and dragging it won't accidentally flip or delete your stamp.
Long-press a background photo to use the whole image as a stamp or extract objects from it.
Bug fixes and performance improvements.
2.4 Jul 1
Your doodles come alive.
Skadoodle now generates a timelapse video of every doodle — stroke by stroke, stamp by stamp — with a branded outro. Share directly to TikTok, Instagram, iMessage, wherever. Tap the play badge on any doodle in your gallery to export.
Also in this update:
Color pickers now remember your recent colors across the whole app — your palette follows you everywhere
Text stamps can now have a drop shadow — control color, blur, and offset
Canvas background color is now saved with your doodle, exactly as you left it
2.3 Jun 29
Re-edit your doodles. Every doodle you create is now saved in a format that preserves all your layers, stamps, and pen strokes. Tap the pencil icon on any doodle in your gallery to pick up right where you left off — layers intact, stamps moveable, everything editable.
Auto-resume. Close the app mid-doodle and come back to it later. Skadoodle saves your work automatically and offers to restore it the next time you open a new canvas.
6 new Dual Tone pen styles. Braid, Hairy, Thorns, Zigzag, Bubble, and Stars — all pressure-sensitive, all wild.
2.2 Jun 26
Layers Panel
Every drawing layer, stamp, and background now has its own chip in a draggable side panel. Tap a chip to select it, swipe left to delete, and drag to reorder anything on the canvas. The panel scrolls to keep the selected chip in view and can be moved anywhere on screen.
Stamp Selection
Tap any stamp on the canvas to select it and open its action menu. Long press to highlight it and drag it directly — no menu, just grab and move. Transparent areas of a stamp pass through to whatever is behind it, so overlapping stamps always respond to exactly where you touch.
Doodle Stamps
Draw anything on a dedicated canvas and extract it as a reusable stamp — powered by the same on-device Vision engine used for photo stamps, completely free. Doodle stamps appear in their own tab alongside emoji and photo stamps, with full pen types, colors, text, and emoji tools available on the canvas.
Tracing Background
Load any photo as a faint reference layer inside the doodle stamp canvas. Trace over it with any pen, then extract — only your drawing becomes the stamp, never the photo. Makes non-artists look very, very good.
Full Photo Import
Drop any photo directly onto the canvas as a moveable, resizable stamp. When selecting from your library, choose between extracting the subject or placing the full photo — multi-select works for both.
Multi-Select in Stamp Picker
Select multiple stamps at once across the emoji, photo, and doodle tabs and place them all in one tap. A trash button lets you delete a whole batch at once.
Precision Tweak
A new panel accessible from any stamp's action menu gives you fine control over size, position, and rotation. Hold any button for continuous adjustment — essential for placing stamps exactly where you want them without pinching.
Moveable Panels
The stamp action menu and Precision Tweak panel can be dragged anywhere on the canvas, so they never block the stamp you're editing.
Extracted Objects as Stamps
Subjects extracted from a background photo now land on the canvas as moveable, resizable stamps instead of being locked into the background layer.
Background Picker
Color swatches moved to the top for quicker access. Recent backgrounds display in a uniform grid. Long-press any thumbnail to remove it.
Effects Screen
Extract Objects activates automatically on re-entry. Effect settings are remembered between sessions. New Reset button restores all sliders to defaults. Improved iPad layout.
Bug Fixes
Fixed artist strip showing only a small number of artists after switching filters. Fixed tapping a doodle from a profile opening the world gallery instead of that artist's work. Artist names now display correctly in the detail view. Tapping a stamp already selected in the picker now places a new copy on the canvas.
2.1 Jun 26
Better Text tools. Improved background control. Lots of refinement and some small bug fixes.
2.0 Jun 15
Lots of feature improvements and some fixes to filtering the gallery by artist and search words. All working great!
1.9 Jun 13
Stamps finally work the way they should — touch the image, not the box around it. Pixel-perfect. Drop a photo cutout of your friend on the canvas, place an emoji right through a gap in it, pinch and drag each one independently. It just works.
Also new: pinch to zoom the canvas, tap a like count to see who's a fan, long press a Top Artist to visit their profile, and faster gallery filtering.
But really — go play with the stamps.
1.8 Jun 12
Some bug fixes and u/i touch ups.
1.7 Jun 10
The drawing canvas gets a major upgrade — stamps now respond to exactly where you touch, even on irregular shapes with transparent areas. Drag through a hole, touch falls through to the stamp below. Pixel-perfect.
New stamp gestures: two-finger tap to duplicate, double-tap to delete. Resize and rotate with two fingers while drawing with your pencil — they don't interfere.
Give your doodle a photo background. Pick any image from your camera roll, position it with two fingers, and draw right over it. Your recent backgrounds are saved for quick reuse.
Profiles got some love too. Tap any doodle on your profile for options — make it your banner, remove it from the community, or delete it. Drag the banner edge to resize it to your taste.
Trending! The gallery now surfaces the hottest doodles based on likes and comments. Plus a new Top Artists strip lets you filter the gallery by artist — see who's creating the most buzz this week. And now you'll get notified when someone likes or comments on your doodle, or starts following you.
The Clear button now gives you options — clear everything, just the drawing, just the stamps, or just the background. Only shows what's relevant.
Bug fixes and performance improvements throughout.
1.6 Jun 10
Comments are here! Tap the chat bubble on any community doodle to leave a comment or reply. Improved Apple Pencil experience with smoother line starts and better pressure sensitivity. Bug fixes and performance improvements.
1.5 Jun 4
Photo Stamps — cut out any object from your photo library and use it as a stamp. Place it, resize it, flip it, rotate it, duplicate it.
Apple Pencil support — draw with pressure sensitivity. Light touch gives a fine line, press hard for bold strokes.
Stamp improvements — duplicate any stamp with one tap. Selection ring now clearly visible. Stamp menu always stays on top.
Fresh start — new users now land on the World Gallery so you see the community in action right away.
iPad polish and performance improvements.

Stamps — A Whole New Way to Play
Stamps now feel like physical objects. Long press to place, drag to move, pinch to resize, two-finger rotate, swipe to flip. No modes, no buttons — just your fingers.
No More Modes
Pen and stamps coexist naturally. Draw with one finger, long press to place a stamp. The app figures out the rest.
Smarter Undo
Pen strokes and stamps now share a single undo history. Each undo reverses exactly one action.
Bug Fixes
Fixed liked doodles showing as unliked after restart. Fixed duplicate likes. iPad improvements throughout.
1.3 Jun 3
Tapping an artist's name now takes you straight to their profile. Images in the gallery display consistently regardless of what device they were drawn on. A few other polish fixes under the hood.
1.2 May 27
Images in the world gallery now load faster and more reliably.
1.1 May 27
