• Your "Year in the Word" recap is now more accurate, including all of your reading this year
• Reading-plan chapters now count toward books opened and finished, including days you read ahead, catch up, or listen
1.0.26 Oct 7
New in 1.0.25
• Book & chapter intros — Before you read, a short intro shows what the chapter is about. Chapter 1 of every book opens with an overview and how the book points to Christ. Prefer to dive straight in? Hide intros in Settings.
• What Scripture teaches — Topic search now opens with a short summary of what the Bible says, with links to the key verses.
• Home & Lock Screen widget — See today's verse and your streak without opening the app. Long-press your Home Screen, tap Edit → Add Widget, and search "Scripture Before Scroll." (iOS 17 or later)
• Milestone cards — Finish a book, reach a streak milestone, or hit a reading-day milestone and get a card you can share.
• Year in the Word — A new card on your Profile recaps your year: days in the Word, chapters read, books finished, your longest streak, and verses memorized.
• Chapter announcements — Audio now announces each chapter in the narrator's voice.
• App Blocker fix — On older versions of iOS, the App Blocker now re-locks your chosen apps each morning as it should.
1.0.25 Sep 28
Your daily verse pool just grew from 600 to over 1,000 — years of fresh Scripture before anything repeats. On the reading-plan tab, each day's passages are now clear, tappable buttons so it's obvious where to start. Memorizing a whole chapter now correctly counts every verse toward your Verse Treasury. Plus a few small polish fixes.
1.0.24 Sep 9
New: "What does the Bible say about…"
Type any topic, question, person, or place — anxiety, forgiveness, marriage, David — and instantly see what Scripture says about it. Tap to read the full chapter in the app, or dig deeper on Blue Letter Bible. Thousands of topics, right from your home screen.
1.0.23 Aug 29
• Read-along audio now highlights and scrolls in sync with the narration, verse by verse.
• Hands-free listening now announces the full chapter name before it starts reading.
• Fixed a reading-plan issue where the last chapter of the day could repeat.
• Fixed hard-to-read text on the completion screen in Dark Mode.
• Small polish to sharing.
1.0.22 Aug 20
This update fixes two bugs:
• The home screen buttons (Verse, Chapter, Memorize, Plan) could stop responding after you opened a chapter from your reading plan.
• In the hands-free audio reader, a second voice could start reading over the narration and wouldn't stop when paused.
Both are resolved — navigation and listening are smooth again.
1.0.21 Aug 18
Listen while you drive. Memorize whole chapters. Share the app.
• Listening mode — tap "Listen to today's reading" and go hands-free. Your reading plan plays chapter after chapter automatically, announces each new one aloud, and keeps playing with your screen locked — with lock-screen controls. Perfect for the car, the gym, or the morning walk. (The play button's bigger and easier to hit, too.)
• Memorize a whole chapter — pick any chapter, like Romans 8, and work through it verse by verse. Each verse starts with just a few blanks, then hides more as you go, until you can recall the whole thing.
• Share the app — inviting a friend now takes them straight to download.
Keep seeking Him first.
1.0.20 Aug 17
Read the whole Bible, your way.
Introducing reading plans you can choose from — and switch between anytime:
• Genesis to Revelation — read straight through the Bible, cover to cover.
• Chronological — follow the story in the order events happened (Job with the patriarchs, the prophets in their times, the letters within Acts).
• Old & New Testament Daily — a Gospel, a Psalm, and Old Testament readings woven together (Village Church Irvine plan).
Pick your pace — 7 days a week or 5 days a week (weekdays) — and finish in about a year either way. Each plan keeps its own progress, so you can explore freely without losing your place.
Also in this update: a fix for a launch issue affecting some devices, plus stability improvements.
Keep seeking Him first.
1.0.19 Aug 7
• Dig Deeper — tap the search icon on any verse to study it instantly on Blue Letter Bible (original languages, commentaries, cross-references) right inside the app. Choose your preferred study translation in Profile.
• More reading translations — read your daily chapter and plan in BSB, WEB, KJV, ASV, or NET. Pick your favorite under Profile → Reading translation.
• Share with a friend — love your morning habit? Now it's one tap to invite someone to start their own.
• Polish and stability improvements.
Thanks for reading Scripture before you scroll.

Listen to any chapter read aloud, with a choice of voices and adjustable playback speed.
