Pandemic Watch is a public-health reference and outbreak-awareness app. It pairs a calm live feed of WHO Disease Outbreak News bulletins with a plain-language reference library and a globe-eye view of recent outbreak activity - designed for travelers, public-health curious readers, and anyone who wants to understand outbreaks without the alarm.
Every number on the dashboard sources to a WHO Disease Outbreak News bulletin, a CDC Health Alert Network notice, an ECDC Communicable Disease Threats Report, or a PAHO epidemiological update. Bulletins update automatically as authorities publish them.
REFERENCE LIBRARY
• Outbreaks 101: how WHO classifies outbreaks, how to read a Disease Outbreak News bulletin, how PHEIC declarations work, transmission and prevention basics.
• What is hantavirus: rodent reservoirs, HPS vs HFRS, transmission, symptoms, history of major events.

• 2D world map with the same color coding for users who prefer a flat view.
• Source attribution chip on every bulletin so you always know which agency published it.
PRESS COVERAGE
News aggregator drawing from BBC, NPR, CBS News, ABC News, Reuters, and AP — filtered to outbreak-related coverage of the pathogens currently in the dashboard.
NOTIFICATIONS (OPT-IN)
Receive a push notification when WHO publishes a new Disease Outbreak News bulletin or when case counts on a tracked outbreak materially change. You set the threshold; notifications are off by default.
PRO (OPTIONAL)
A subscription removes banner ads and unlocks up to 10 custom alert rules per country or case-count threshold. Pricing varies by storefront; renews automatically until cancelled. Cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
PRIVACY
• No health data collection. The app does not integrate with HealthKit and does not ask for, store, or transmit any personal health information.
• No account required. The app reads public data from a server-side cache; nothing about your usage is shared with us beyond standard App Store analytics.
• Notifications use Apple Push Notification service; we do not have access to your device token.
