A NEW START SCREEN: the app now opens on a simple start page with your child's name, three big doors (this week's spelling list, the Phonics Test and Flash Cards) and a pick-up-where-you-left-off card that reopens whatever they were doing last.
PHONICS TEST, POLISHED: phonics check practice is now called the Phonics Test throughout the app. Every paper gets a Hear the word button next to Sound it out, so your child can hear the whole word read once before they try it. A friendly spoken prompt asks them by name to read the first word (switch it off any time in Me). The Readiness map now leads with the tricky words card and its one-tap practice round.
CHOOSE THE VOICE: American, British or Australian. Set it once in Me and the Phonics Test, story reader and dictation all follow.
TRICKY WORDS: five sets of common exception words, the ones that break the phonics rules, grouped by the sound rule that explains them, so "one" and "was" make sense instead of being memorized.
