Description

Readability’s award-winning Smart Reading & Comprehension Learning App gives your child the effectiveness of 1-on-1 tutoring. Our breakthrough voice-based technology LISTENS while your child READS, highlighting, and correcting any problem words. Kids from kindergarten to 6th grade will improve their reading, vocabulary, and comprehension skills all in the convenience of a mobile app.

IMPROVE READING WITH 1-ON-1 TUTORING
Readability prompts your child to read aloud and listens while providing reading help and real-time pronunciation correction as your child reads. If they get stuck, they can tap on the speaker icon to have Readability read the selected passage or word aloud. Readability automatically selects the right reading material for each child to maximize improvement and minimize the reading struggle. Your child will be eager to learn as these fun and educational grade-level stories come to life with bright illustrations.

IMPROVE CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Our industry-first comprehension with Interactive Voice-based Questions & Answers (IVQA™) asks your child questions verbally about the story they just read to improve their critical thinking skills. Your child then is prompted to answer the question verbally to ensure they fully understand what they read. Comprehension is as important as reading fluency, we deliver both in our smart reading app for kids.

IMPROVE VOCABULARY
Readability makes it easy to learn new words and their meaning with a personalized vocabulary list for your child. Your child can long-press on any word while reading to learn its pronunciation, meaning, and add it to their vocabulary list. Their vocabulary list is neatly organized A-Z and by book to further practice, review, and perfect new or difficult words.

SET AND TRACK READING GOALS
Set goals and follow your child’s progress with your very own Parent Dashboard detailing what they have read, reading duration, accuracy, comprehension, and speed. It also provides daily and weekly reading reports for accountability that can be shared with a teacher.

ENGAGING BOOKS
A massive selection of age-appropriate stories and educational works keep kids engaged and learning. Readability is the perfect reading app for kids.

Ms. Garibay ,

Helped my dyslexic daughter GREATLY!!

I don’t even know what to say other than thank you! To whoever designed and created this…THANK YOU!! My daughter is 9 and is severely dyslexic with speech apraxia. She’s reading at about a 1st grade level, if that, and the mention of ‘reading’ would cause a huge meltdown because of how difficult it is for her. I’ve tried every app out there that ‘guaranteed’ success but all they did was cause her to get frustrated and break down because she couldn’t succeed on them. Because of her speech apraxia, apps could never decode what she was trying to say and it was heartbreaking to see her give up. I decided to try this and the free month long trial is what sold me, to be honest, because I didn’t want to pay for something that wasn’t going to work. The first time she tried Readability, not only was she able to read at her own pace, but the technology UNDERSTOOD her unique speech patterns and she was able to complete an entire book without breaking down into tears. She is now starting to choose her own books and reads every night on her own and she even told me she ‘secretly’ likes her new app, even though it has to do with reading. Her attitude towards reading has completely changed now because she feels successful and is able to do this independently. So from the bottom of my heart and soul, thank you for this. Your program helped my little girl who had given up, believe in herself again.

Best of this type of tech

Having an app listen for accuracy and provide feedback is a tall order. Although this will not replace a person it’s the next best thing. Are there times the app does not register what your child is saying and cause frustration? Yes. Is it still worth it? Yes. The benefits of this app far exceed the hiccups. If your struggling to stay accountable with reading with your children nightly I urge you to try this app. My kids are reading more than they ever have which is so important in developing fluent readers. The data sent to my app keeps me on track in keeping them on track and helps me stay informed on how they are doing. The ability to have 3 readers for one price is a plus as well as all the accessibility features that allow my child with a learning disability make the changes needed to help her excel. My kids enjoy the wide range of reading material. Love this app and am excited to see the tech in this area grow in efficiency and accuracy.

Great concept but apps not there yet

Homeschool mom here with a struggling reader. I love the concept of the app but the app needs a lot of work. It doesn’t give the reader enough time to sound out the words, when the reader does sound out the word the app would register the first letter sound of the word and the app would register the word as if the child said it when they didn’t and the app would move on to the next word. It would take sounds or noises and register it ad a word and then move on. The app didn’t give my child enough time to figure out the word and would give him the answer. Which I don’t mind but I would rather my child figure out the word himself and the app not give the answer unless my child taps on the word himself asking for assistance. The books also are not great quality. My son became frustrated with the app within 5 min of using it for the first time, and that is the worst thing for a struggling reader. I’m teaching my child to have grace with himself cause he has dyslexia and adhd so reading does not come easy for him and he can get discouraged and frustrated really fast, and I want him to love to read. If they get easily frustrated or bored then he won’t enjoy to read. Your asking way too much money for you app when it needs a lot of work.
