Fernweh Charge

Prices, free plugs & fees

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

€/kWh prices, how many plugs are free right now, and the session and blocking fees other apps hide. Open data from Mobilithek. No account, no tracking. PRICES, FREE PLUGS AND THE FEES OTHER APPS HIDE — ON ONE MAP Fernweh Charge shows the ad-hoc per-kWh price at every charging station in Germany, how many plugs are free right now, and the session and blocking fees that decide what a charge actually costs. No account, no sign-in, no tracking. WHERE THE DATA COMES FROM: Under the European AFIR rules, German charging-point operators must publish their kWh prices through the DATEX II standard on Mobilithek — the federal open-data portal. Fernweh Charge aggregates this open data and puts it on a map so you can compare before you plug in. WHAT YOU GET: • Ad-hoc €/kWh prices across more than 1,500 operators and 40,000 charging stations • Free-plug counts where operators publish live status — "3 of 5 free", shown per connector so you know whether the free ones fit your car • Session, blocking and time fees beneath the price, because €0.59/kWh plus a €5 blocking fee is not €0.59/kWh • Contract-tier prices when an operator publishes them (e.g. "with EnBW app · €0.49/kWh") • Nearby list sorted by distance, with price, power and free plugs at a glance • Filter by charging power, maximum price, connector type and operator • Driving distance and ETA to any station, then navigate with Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze • State-by-state price overviews when you zoom out ABOUT LIVE AVAILABILITY: Free-plug counts come from the AFIR live feed, which reports changes rather than a constant picture. Roughly half of all stations currently publish it, so some chargers show "Live status not available" — and the app says exactly that rather than guessing or showing a misleading zero. PRIVACY-FIRST: • No account, no sign-in • No analytics, no tracking • Location is used only to centre the map; nothing is sent off your device • Open-data attribution shown in the app (Bundesanstalt für Straßenwesen, Mobilithek) CURRENT COVERAGE: More than 1,500 operator brands across Germany, including EnBW, ChargePoint, Ubitricity, Pfalzwerke, EWE Go, Lidl, enercity, ALDI, Shell Recharge, Aral pulse, Mer, Allego, E.ON Drive Infrastructure, BMW Group Corporate Charging, Tesla and Ionity. LANGUAGES: English, German. OPEN DATA: All pricing data is published under CC0 1.0 Universal by individual charging-point operators via Germany's federal Mobilithek portal.

A reliability fix for live availability. On a fresh install, the first download of live plug status could stop partway through and start over, so some chargers showed no live status even though their operator publishes it. The app now picks up exactly where it left off, and live availability fills in completely within the first few minutes.
