Two years ago, a trip to Japan changed the way we experienced matcha.
During our journey, we tasted authentic Japanese matcha and handcrafted matcha gelato for the first time. The flavor was rich, smooth, and naturally refreshing—simple, but unforgettable.
One day, a friend brought us to a small matcha shop hidden in the mountains. The shop was run by a kind elderly woman who stone-ground her matcha and prepared every dessert by hand. Watching her work with such patience and care showed us that great desserts are not only about flavor, but also about craftsmanship, tradition, and love.
That experience inspired a dream.
After returning home, my daughter and I began searching for premium matcha suppliers in Japan. We received professional training in matcha beverages and later studied gelato-making techniques. After months of learning, testing, and refining, we created desserts that are smooth, balanced, and made with carefully selected ingredients.
That dream became Matcha Mori.
