Jupiter Optimus: To-Do & Tasks
GTD Task Manager & Git Issues
Free · In‑App Purchases
Now with Siri: add and update your tasks by voice. Your own sidebar order, smarter statistics, and Maximus on newer, cheaper AI models. 7-day free trial, then $9.99/year.
Jupiter Optimus is the task manager built for people who ship: import your GitHub and GitLab issues as tasks, complete them, and the issue closes itself.
One honest price: $9.99 a year, with a 7-day free trial. No free tier, no ads, no upsells — and no data collection. Your tasks live in your own iCloud; the AI assistant (Maximus) uses your own API key and talks straight to your provider.
• Import your Todoist or TickTick export, Apple Reminders, or pasted text — switch in minutes
• GTD: start dates, Someday, sections, smart lists, recurring tasks, subtasks
• Focus: Pomodoro timer, time tracking, Live Activities, widgets
• Views: list, kanban board, calendar, Upcoming agenda
• Native SwiftUI on iPhone, iPad and Mac — one subscription, every device
• Backup & restore, offline-first, dark by design
Jupiter Optimus is a $9.99/year auto-renewing subscription with a 7-day free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage or cancel it anytime in Settings.

more Version 1.9 — Siri, iPhone Duo, and your own sidebar order.
SIRI
With Apple Intelligence on iOS 27, ask Siri to add and update your tasks: "Create a reminder called Call Ana in Jupiter Optimus", "Add milk to my Groceries list in Jupiter Optimus", "Mark Pay rent as completed in Jupiter Optimus". Due dates and times, repeats, flags and your projects work by voice. Siri can't set location reminders in Jupiter.
YOUR ORDER
Put your spaces and projects in the order you want with Organize Sidebar, and fold a space to hide its projects. The order syncs to all your devices; folding stays on each device.
READY FOR IPHONE DUO
On the outer display your most-used buttons stay in reach, and the date, priority and tags Jupiter reads from a new task now sit right under its title, above the keyboard — on every iPhone.
STATISTICS
The trend compares the period so far with the same days before it, and the activity map starts your week on the day your region does.
MAXIMUS
New setups use Claude Haiku 5.5 and GPT-6 Luna — newer and cheaper on your own key. If you never picked a model yourself, Maximus moves you to them; a model you typed stays. Models that are being retired show the date and a one-tap replacement.
Plus: manual order inside a project's sections, and smaller fixes.
1.9 Oct 22
Ready for iPhone Duo.
• On iPhone Duo's outer display, Jupiter Optimus now uses the whole screen, and its toolbar moves into the bar at the side.
• A task's priority, due time, category and project stay on one line on narrow screens. Long names shorten instead of breaking the time in two.
• With larger text sizes, each of them gets its own line, so all of it stays readable.
1.8.1 Oct 14
Version 1.8 — Notes without a project, stats on your Home Screen, and Maximus ready for the newest models.
YOUR STATS ON THE HOME SCREEN
A Statistics widget in three sizes: your day streak; then completions, the trend against the previous period, completion rate and today; and in the large size, the per-day chart. Each widget picks its own period — Today, This Week or This Month. It counts, it never loads your tasks, so it stays light however big your library is.
NOTES WITHOUT A PROJECT
A note no longer needs a project. Write it under No Project and file it later from its menu or the editor. Deleting a project now keeps its notes — they move to No Project — and backups include notes that have no project. Update your other devices too: on older versions, deleting a project still deletes its notes.
MAXIMUS, READY FOR THE NEWEST MODELS
With your own API key, models that think before they answer — Claude Fable 5.1, Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5, Gemini 3 — no longer come back cut off or empty. Choose how hard Claude and Gemini models think (Low, Medium or High) where the model supports it; Low by default keeps replies fast and inexpensive. Replies show bold, lists and code instead of asterisks. Google's default is now Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, because Google now offers 2.5 Flash only to those who already used it. If Anthropic retires Claude Haiku 4.5, Maximus's default, Maximus moves you to Claude Sonnet 5.5 and tells you; Gemini 2.5 Flash moves to 3.5 Flash-Lite the same way once Google refuses it. If you chose a Claude model that Anthropic had retired or scheduled for retirement by this release, Settings shows the date and its replacement, one tap away. Requests to OpenAI opt out of stored completions.
ALSO
Long task lists do several times less work each time they redraw. The day-streak ring no longer runs through its own number, at any text size. Siri, Shortcuts and Focus filters now share the app's own connection to your data instead of opening another one each time. A wrong Gemini key now says so instead of "request failed (400)". Plan My Day reads the right plan when a model drafts one first. In time zones where daylight saving starts at midnight, streaks and charts no longer break on that day. A task added from Today or Upcoming is now due today without a time of its own, instead of the minute you added it.
1.8 Oct 5
Version 1.7 — Git in the flow.
THE ISSUE'S CONVERSATION, IN THE TASK
A linked task now shows what people said on its issue — the last comments, who wrote them and when, with the whole thread one tap away. Comments are never stored or synced; they are fetched when you look.
TOLD WHEN IT MATTERS
Get a notification when an issue is newly assigned to you, or when a tracked issue's priority or milestone moves. Quiet by design: nothing on a repository's first sync, and a busy morning rings once instead of eleven times. Off switch in Maximus settings.
EDIT HERE, UPDATE THERE
Turn it on and renaming a task renames its issue, and its notes become the issue's description. Issues only, never pull requests, and a rename made on GitHub still wins when it is the one that changed.
SHARE THE WEEK
The Weekly Review wrap-up now makes a card: what shipped in the last seven days, what the review decided, your streak and your busiest projects.
ALSO
Typing works the way you already type: !high, !medium, !low and @Project alongside +Project, plus "next week" and "next month". A task typed with a project no longer lands in the Inbox. The day streak stays alive until midnight instead of resetting at the start of the day. Rate the app from About, if it has earned it.
1.7 Sep 21
Version 1.6 — Maximus, both ways.
CREATE ISSUES FROM TASKS
Any task can become a GitHub or GitLab issue: pick the repository, keep the title and notes, send
your tags as labels. The task links to the issue it created, so closing and commenting work from
the same place.
LABELS BECOME PRIORITY
Imported issues bring their labels, milestone and assignees. "urgent", "p1" or "critical" set the
priority high; labels become tags; the milestone becomes a section. The words are yours to change
per repository. Draft pull requests and review requests are marked in the Review Queue.
STATISTICS YOU CAN SHARE
Choose Today, This Week, This Month, This Year or All Time — completed, focus time, rate and
active days follow. Share a summary card straight to your friends or your feed.
INBOX THAT ISN'T EMPTY
Project tasks with no date now appear below your Inbox, so the work that still needs a decision
is one tap away. Off switch in Settings.
ALSO
Notes board with project filter, search, sort and a compact list. The app tour is back under
About. Task details close with one tap on the Mac.
1.6 Sep 13
Version 1.5 — new places where the app works for you.
VAULT
Every project gets a small safe for text: an API key, a licence code, the door code for the office.
Items are encrypted on your device with a key that lives only in your iCloud Keychain, and open
with Face ID or Touch ID. Never indexed, never in a widget, never sent anywhere.
GUIDED WEEKLY REVIEW
A stepped walk through your Inbox and every project's stale tasks — decide, schedule, park or
delete — ending with what you shipped this week. Everything it changes is undoable in one step.
WIDGETS
"Any List" shows the list you choose — a project, a smart list, Inbox, Today, Upcoming or Someday —
in small, medium and large. "This Week" lays out the days ahead. Tap the circle to complete a task
right on the Home Screen.
IMPORTS THAT DON'T FREEZE
Todoist, TickTick, Reminders and pasted text now import in the background with a progress bar,
and Cancel leaves nothing behind.
SMALLER THINGS
Each list remembers its own view: board or list, sort order and tag filter. A GitHub or GitLab
issue you deleted stays deleted on the next sync. Undoing a delete no longer copies attachments.
1.5 Sep 9
Fixes a bug where completing a recurring task again after un-completing it
created a duplicate of the next occurrence.
1.4.1 Sep 7
• Undo. Complete the wrong task, move it to the wrong project, reschedule it,
or apply a batch action to twelve tasks at once — every one of them is now
one tap from undone. The "— Undo" pill that used to know only about deletes
now offers your last action too.
• Logbook. Everything you have completed, day by day, newest first. Un-complete
from there if you were too quick.
• Backups that really are complete. A backup is now a single .jupiterbackup
file that carries your attachments, note images and link previews — the
bytes the old format could not — and states what is inside. Restore tells
you what the file held against what this device had. Old backups still
restore.
• A backup you did not have to remember. Once a day, the first time the app
opens with iCloud fully synced, it writes one to your iCloud Drive folder
("Jupiter Optimus" in Files) and keeps the last seven. Never while iCloud is
still syncing — a half backup is worse than none. Settings shows when, how
much, and where.
• Pull-request notifications now lead somewhere. Tapping one opens the list
that pull request is in: Review Queue for anything open — it now lists every
open pull request in the repositories you track, not only the ones awaiting
your review — and Shipped for merged ones, which it now lists too, and
includes when you copy the digest. They used to just open the app.
• Apple Watch: room to scroll the last task clear of the Add button.
1.4 Sep 5
• Jupiter Optimus is now on your wrist. The Apple Watch app shows what is due
today, completes a task with a tap, and takes a new one by dictation straight
into your Inbox. Complications put the day's count on your watch face. It
syncs through your own iCloud, so it works with your iPhone in another room —
and it is included in your subscription, with nothing extra to buy.
• Control Centre and the Action Button. Add "New Task" or "Today" to Control
Centre, the Lock Screen, or the Action Button, and you are one press away
from typing.
• Focus filters. Link a Focus mode to a Space and the app narrows itself to
match — turn on Work, see only Work. Your Inbox and anything without a Space
stay visible, so nothing quietly disappears.
• Self-hosted GitLab. Connect to your company's GitLab, not only gitlab.com.
Enter your server address when you connect.
• Duplicate projects. If the same project arrived twice from two devices, the
app now notices and offers to merge them, listing exactly what will move.
Nothing is merged without your say-so.
• Backups are safer. If iCloud is still syncing, the app warns you before
writing a backup that would be incomplete, and tells you how much it holds.
Erasing your data now states what your last backup contains and when it was
taken.
• Creating a project tells you if one with that name already exists, instead of
quietly making a second.
• Repositories tracked on another device now appear here too, with the project
they import into.
• An empty app offers to load sample data where you are, not only in Settings.
1.3 Sep 3
• Reminders now ring on all your devices, not just the one where you
created the task — and they survive a restore from backup.
• Maximus: the iPhone now shows which project each repository imports into.
• Tap the iCloud row in Settings to see exactly what sync is doing.
• Categories can now be deleted right from the picker on Mac.
1.2 Aug 25
• Maximus: a project can now take issues from several repositories.
• New in Settings → Data: Load Sample Data, to see the app working before
you commit your own. One tap to remove it again.
• Project notes can now be deleted on Mac.
1.1 Aug 24
Fixes from the first week:
• Fixed a crash when erasing all data.
• Add image now works on Mac.
• Fixed importing from Todoist and TickTick.
• Templates and tags can now be deleted on Mac.
• The new-task sheet opens ready to type, and rows respond across their
full width.
