Driftless is a calm, anonymous space for people who live with Maladaptive Daydreaming (MD) — vivid, immersive daydreaming that can pull time and attention away from real life.
This is peer support, not therapy. You won't find a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or an AI "therapist" here — just other people who understand, and a few gentle tools.
WHAT'S INSIDE
— Anonymous by default. No name, no email, no account to set up. You get a random handle and you're in, in under a minute.
— Daily check-ins. A 30-second, private way to notice your triggers and how grounded you feel.
— A community that doesn't feed the habit. Sharing is structured around your experience — triggers, feelings, coping, wins — not the plot of the fantasy. Feeds are finite: you'll reach a real "you're all caught up," not an endless scroll.
— A toolkit of grounding exercises for the moment you need to come back to the present.
— Progress, without pressure. Gentle visualizations of your check-ins and wins — no streaks, no shame, no public counts or leaderboards.
— Crisis resources reachable from every screen, always, no matter what you're doing in the app.
— An optional, private Journal and Dream Space if you want to write more — private by default, shareable only if you choose.
WHAT THIS APP IS NOT
Driftless is not therapy, a diagnosis, a treatment, or a medical device. If you're struggling, please talk to a professional — the app makes it easy to find one, and to reach a crisis line, at any time.
PRIVACY, ACTUALLY
No real name. No contacts. No location tracking. No ad trackers. No email required — you can optionally add a recovery email (never shown to anyone) so your data survives a new phone, or stay in guest mode forever.
