Four places a day. Two questions each: where on Earth is this, and when did it happen?
You get a photograph and a clue. Drop a pin on the map, choose a moment in time, and see how close you were — then read the short story behind the place.
Why places stick
The method of loci — the "memory palace" — works because human memory is exceptional at attaching facts to locations. Everywhen is built on that. Every story is anchored to the spot on Earth where it actually happened, so what you learn has somewhere to live.
What's inside
• A daily round — four places, 1,000 points
• 378 places across seven realms: the past, science and invention, arts and culture, belief and myth, earth and sky, the living world, mind and society
• A Passport that fills in as you go, every place you've collected pinned to a world map
• 49 collections that join places into a single story
• A streak, and the full history of every day you've played
• Star the places you want to come back to, and find them again from anywhere
• Hard mode, when the clue makes it too easy
Your Passport, everywhere
Sign in with Apple or Google and it all follows you — collected places, streak, daily history — restored on a new phone and kept in step across devices.
You don't need an account to play. Sign in when you want it backed up.
Everywhen Pro
Everywhen is free, and the daily round is free every day. Pro is for collecting faster: more places each day, and the ability to go back and play the days you missed.
• Monthly or yearly, with a free month to start
• Or Lifetime — one payment, nothing renews, nothing to cancel
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID settings at any time. Lifetime is a one-time purchase.

Light or dark, and a Library that only keeps what worked.
• Everywhen can be light or dark on its own now. It's in Settings, under Appearance — System, Light, or Dark. It starts on System, which is what it has always quietly done.
• Walks are gone. A walk joined a few places into a route, but a place only ever turns up in the daily once, so a walk's stops landed weeks apart and nothing you did ever brought one closer to finishing. Collections do the same job and actually finish, so the Library is collections now.
• An empty map says what to do about it. Explore used to open on bare ocean with a "Surprise Me" button that had nothing to surprise you with yet. Now it tells you the map fills in as you play, and offers you a way straight to the past dailies to put the first pin on it.
• Finish a day on your iPad and your iPhone notices. If a round was played somewhere else while Today was open, it used to keep offering you a round you'd already done until you quit and reopened the app.
• Today's scorecard leads with the date now, instead of repeating the theme back to you.
