FlySalah: Flight Prayer Times
Salah, Qibla & jet-lag sleep
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
One plan for the whole trip: prayer times along your flight and a jet-lag sleep plan. Iftar and suhoor from your seat. New look, light and dark, with a route chart.
One plan for your whole trip: when to pray, and when to sleep. FlySalah works out each prayer along your actual flight path, then builds a jet-lag sleep plan around it, with sleep, light, melatonin and caffeine on one timeline, to help you adjust to the new time zone and avoid jet lag.
At 900 km/h you outrun the sun, and a prayer time that was right at the gate is wrong at 38,000 feet. FlySalah works out the exact moment each prayer falls along your great-circle path, and points you to the Qibla relative to the aircraft's heading. Tap any prayer and "Why this time?" shows the sun, the rule for your method and madhab, and how far the flight moved it.
ALTITUDE-CORRECTED MAGHRIB AND SUNRISE
At 11 km the horizon sits about 3° lower, so the sun sets later from your window than for someone on the ground below. Maghrib usually moves 15–20 minutes later. Many scholars hold that a passenger prays Maghrib, and breaks the fast, when the sun has set from where they are. You can switch this off in Settings to use the ground below.
RAMADAN ON A FLIGHT
Iftar and suhoor from your seat: sunset where you are, how long your fast will be, and a suhoor reminder. A traveller may choose not to fast and make up the days after Ramadan. If in doubt, ask a scholar you trust.
SHORTENING AND COMBINING PRAYERS
While you travel, see which prayers may be shortened or combined, and when, for your madhab, including Ibn Taymiyyah's view that combining is tied to need, not to travel itself. Guidance, not a fatwa. If in doubt, ask a scholar you trust.
FOR HAJJ AND UMRAH
FlySalah asks "Going for Umrah or Hajj?" on trips that reach a mīqāt. Say yes and it works out when your path crosses it, then reminds you to change into ihram and make your intention. Flying into Madinah, it reminds you to enter ihram at Dhul-Ḥulayfah when you leave for Makkah.
THE JET-LAG SLEEP PLAN
Enter your usual bedtime and wake time. FlySalah plans when to sleep, seek or avoid light, take melatonin and stop caffeine, to help you adjust to the new time zone and avoid jet lag. It covers before you leave, in the air and after you land. A prayer that falls in your sleep appears as "Wake for …". Melatonin and caffeine recommendations are general guidance, not medical advice. Talk to your doctor if you have a sleep disorder, are pregnant, or take any medication.
THE WHOLE JOURNEY, TOGETHER
Several flights and the layovers between them, gate to gate. Scan your boarding pass or type a flight number. Share a trip with your group by link or QR code; each person's sleep plan stays their own.
ON YOUR IPHONE, IPAD AND APPLE WATCH
Widgets on the home and lock screen, and a Live Activity in the Dynamic Island, show what's next, a prayer or a step of your sleep plan, with a live countdown. The Apple Watch app and complications show it on your wrist. All keep counting with the app closed, in airplane mode.
SHARED WITH YOUR FAMILY
FlySalah Pro can be shared through Family Sharing.
CALCULATED YOUR WAY
12 calculation methods, Standard or Hanafi Asr, Qiyam, a high-latitude rule, calendar export, and five travel duas with their sources. Short guides in Settings explain every feature.
FREE, AND WHAT ISN'T
All prayer features are free, multi-leg journeys included. The sleep plan is free for your first trip; after that it is FlySalah Pro, a one-time purchase, never a subscription. Tips are sadaqah: they keep prayer features free for everyone.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Prayer times are calculated entirely on your device, and your journeys never leave it. FlySalah sends anonymous counts of which features are used — you can switch that off in Settings — looks up a flight only when you ask, and checks for app updates. No accounts, no ads, no tracking, and everything works offline.
